We actually played flowing football once we went down to 10 men, sadly for KI and Navas, they were sacrificed for experience and guile and that proved to be the answer when fighting a backs to the wall game.

It is a pity we could not do this a few days ago down the East Lancs.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola gave a series of short answers to BBC Sport's Damian Johnson after the match, a selection of which appears below:

Damian Johnson: "What was your view of the red card for Fernandinho?"

Pep Guardiola: "You are the journalist. Not me."

DJ: "You're the manager. I'm sure the fans would like to know.

PG: "Ask the referee - not me."

DJ: "You don't seem that happy that you've won."

PG: "More than you would believe. More than you would believe I am happy."

DJ: "You're not showing it."

PG: "I'm so happy believe me. I'm so happy. Happy new year."

DJ: "Are Manchester City in the title race?"

PG: "Yesterday no. Why today are we in the title race?"

Pep's obviously pissed off with the hyperbole not to mention the double standard officiating, can't say I blame him.

“It is always our fault,” he said(PG). “It’s always City’s fault.

finally Pep join the Club

Welcome to our World Pep.

Telling quotes in that interview. I think he may have finally woken up and smelt the coffee having witnessed some of the sh*t that we have had to put up with.

They might not like him when he is angry

Time has come for referees to be accountable, I would love to know why he did not give Silva a foul.

I have see it loads of times specifically on Sergio, it is almost as though they have been told City are divers but there is something that smells rotten match after match and I am not asking for special treatment but fair decisions

With you all the way Buzz. Too easy to be accused of paranoia but we keep witnessing the same thing over and over and the inconsistency is shocking. Just like Pep I cannot fathom how a team with such high possession stats are always on the wrong end of the card count.
