A few thoughts, or ramblings.
Whilst the sacking of SG at the weekend appears to have been inevitable after the dismissal of his assistant the previous weekend, had the Club not lined up a successor beforehand?
If not was SG's removal a kneejerk reaction, and not a response to ongoing issues?
Why wasn't SG given an ultimatum to improve results, or else?

It seems obvious, after last night's performance and subsequent post match interview, that Featherstone is not ready for the managers role.
Can we anticipate a speedy appointment or will there be a lengthy process to appoint, another, right person to lead the Club forwards?
Either way the prospects for us long suffering fans look pretty miserable in the coming weeks!

All things considered, who would take on the role of Pools next manager?

Somebody who is looking to make few bob before Christmas, as they’ll be gone by 5pm Boxing Day.
Shopping centre Santa’s are in work longer than pools managers.

Recruiting a shopping centre Santa isn't a bad idea. It would take pointless hope out of the equation. We could all line up to tell the Santa what we wanted for Christmas, in the certain knowledge that we'd actually be given a plastic helicopter that broke during its first flight.

If we are to believe the Mail, Pools are considering only 3 candidates Featherstone, Dickman and Peter Hartley for the managers role! Not sure where Robbie Stelling gets his information - being as he is persona non grata at the Vic - but surely the board are looking further afield for someone with more experience / ambition?
Not that I'm averse to Featherstone being given an opportunity, I just don't think he's ready for the role as yet.

Perhaps a shopping centre Santa might prove an astute appointment if the Mail's prognosis is accurate.

Think Dickman was touted for the role while Grayson was still at the helm, he’d be the human shield protecting Featherstone whilst he plays the Tony Sweeney role.
If the club have funded his ‘badges’ they’ll probably want a return on their investment, when they’ve broken Dickman in 16 games time, he’ll step up.

Will tonight's game, Morecambe, prove to be Featherstone's "interview" for the managers hotseat?
Win, and the jobs his
Draw, and the "experiment " continues to the weekend
Lose, and a new man is installed before the week is out

Looks like he’s trying to make a fist of it. In his words he’s ‘brought Campbell back into the fold’ and he seems to be repaying him bit by bit.

He’s made mistakes, as long as he recognises that and is seen to be making an effort to redeem himself he might do okay.
It’s not managing a side who are fairing okay that is ever an issue, it’s when it goes tits up and your back is against the wall that’s when it gets challenging.
