Main Stand

If you look at how Anfield has been developed, and consider the area that the ground is in, with limited public transport and parking, you would hope developing the CG would be simple in comparison.

It's all down to who has the will to make it happen.

agree. tbh if forest have the will (and the money) then EM can get his increased stadium.

So these extra corporate seats will need somewhere to wine and dine?
Will be built at the back of the seats or even underneath. Temporary corporate seating is going in for this season a more permanent structure will be built when the new main stand finally gets the go ahead.
Also, they're looking at using the seats left empty in the BC lower tier next to the away fans to slightly increase capacity further.
They're trying at least.

There is probably something stopping it logistically but I said last year if they could put the away fans at the other side of Bridgeford stand then they would only need one "sterile" area instead of two because there is a natural physical break between there & the Peter Taylor stand at that end, which would have the affect of freeing up a few seats somewhere the other side

Put the away fans next to A Block?

Lol

That would be entertaining for sure!

Its not just a break in the seating, you need to have a drop off and pick up area for the away supporters, which they have at present.

Stick the away fans in the other half of the Bridgeford lower and it would be pandemonium in the main car park after a game

Yes I suspected that was probably it, that's shy I said there was probably something logistical stopping it. I've not been in that end of the ground since the terracing disappeared so not sure of the entry & exit set up

some interesting points. It would make sense to wait and submit a new PT design. With the perspective being ‘we are in the premier league’. So adding just the additional 5000 seems to be out of sync with the ambitions now being mooted by the club.

Some ideas on how the existing site may be expanded over time:

decent video, not least cos it confirms wot I said. do take issue re CPO tho. I agree with the video re campus and that means that end of colwick rd- the houses at the back of the bridgeford end HAVE to go. Yes it is difficult for those few but this is the only way to optimise the site- all of the owners will be compensated, fairly.

I think the basketball idea can just fook off but that's me.

every thing else is spot on for me.

I guess it didn't cover the risk that the site is developed for housing to fund a new stadium somewhere else. Rushcliffe likely to support that type of plan.

From Video discussion. £100m for new stand. £1B for stadium? How is it going to be funded? Other Sporting facilities have to stack up in own right.

The new Peter Taylor stand would be financed over 10+ years by housing development on the present club shop and office site behind the new stand. What this recent discussion highlights is the possibility of another similar sized housing venture on the Lady Bay end corner of car park, this could finance the rebuild of the new Brian Clough Stand. Both stands triple deckers, holding just under 20,000 each.

Corners of Trent end and new roof and second tier of Colwick Rd corner would complete new ground. 50,000 seater. It gives RBC a lot of new housing to meet new targets without then paying for it or on green field. Only compulsory purchase is some boat clubs and they could probably be negotiated. No CO of residential property.

New sporting facilities or use of an environmental office building site remains a separate scheme as does training facilities. The funding of each stand has its own income stream and should support its own investment.

A mate of mine, many moons ago, lived on Acacia Walk in Beeston. The new Tesco was going to be built there, and they offered way over the top for their houses. One old boy said he wasn’t moving, and the price went up and up until the offer was too good to refuse.
My mates offer was that good in the end, they ended up with a house on Cator Lane. Lost touch with him now, but I bet it’s worth a fortune now.
I suppose what I’m saying is, that if the owners of the houses on Colwick Road hold out, they could be made for life. So it ain’t gonna be cheap for EM, for that to happen.

Council due to sign off the sale of the City Ground site at their executive committee meeting today. That of course is if we want it .
