Vital Football Legend
Next up we travel 28 miles North of central London to Kenilworth Road and Luton Town FC.
Luton, most famous for its airport and hat making, has a diverse population of different ethnic backgrounds and is one of the most populous towns in the UK without city status.
Nicknamed ‘the Hatters’ after the towns historical connection to the hat making trade, they were in the old First Division from 1982-1992 and won the League Cup in 1988 beating Arsenal 3-2. Between 2007 and 2009 they suffered successive relegations and from 2009-2014 they spent five seasons in the Conference before bouncing back up to the Championship in 2019.
Welsh connections are their manager Nathan Jones, and players Tom Lockyer and Joe Morrell.
The reverse fixture at the Liberty last December was a hard fought 2-0 win for the Swans thanks to goals from Roberts and Ayew.
Expect another tough contest with the Swans on tired legs and Luton having a week off due to postponement of their match against Rotherham.

Key defender Marc Guehi will be out for a while with a groin injury and will be a big miss, but we have cover in Ryan Bennet and Joel Latibeaudiere with Brandon Cooper also back from injury. Wayne Routledge is also back from injury but there is doubt about Paul Arriola who was injured in training.

Regarding Warnock’s outburst, yesterday it was confirmed that Middlesbrough FC had been charged with a breach of FA Rule E20 after its game against Swansea City AFC on Saturday 6/3/21 in the EFL Championship.
They failed to ensure that its players and/or club officials conducted themselves in an orderly fashion after the final whistle and the club has until Monday 15/3/21 to provide a response."
Out of control with temper after the match, amongst other insinuations Warnock implied that we were being favoured by refs because Steve Cooper’s father was a top referee, our “custard Kid” players were diving to get penalties, and the refs were biased for us because we were a PL club for several years.
Statistics show that this is not true.
Last season, Swansea were awarded 4 penalties in their 46 league games.
This season they’ve been awarded 5 penalties , 4 of which have been given since February 27, before that just 1 penalty in 30 games, that is definitely not a team trying to cheat their way to promotion.
Penalties awarded – top 10
Norwich 9
Watford 9
Reading 8
Preston 7
Blackburn 6
Cardiff 6
Rotherham 6
Wycombe 5
Brentford 5
Swansea 5

While Swansea won one penalty in their opening 30 games Norwich were awarded nine in their opening 32 games. Watford, are equal top with 9, and 4 of which have come in their last 12 games.
Neither club has taken the stick that Swansea have lately.

20’ Mpanzu lob shot from Woodman’s poor clearance out, Woodman just managed to race back and tip the ball round the post.

Every time we pass back we’re in trouble with Luton pressing and closing us down.
All Luton so far, 6 corners to 2.

62’ Clark almost scored, just short of meeting a cross with his head, after a breakaway from a poor Dhanda corner again which went straight to a Luton player
