Luque

Any idea what is happening with Luque at the moment?

Not even featured on the bench yet to my knowledge.

I understand that there was to be a wait for international clearance but surely by now that will be sorted.

Was on the bench at Port Vale wasn't he?
Him and Crookes were both warming up with the other sub's before the game on Tuesday.
Does seem an increasingly odd signing no doubt though.

Pretty sure he'll feature in the Checkatrade - that may be the safest environment for him to make his debut.

His step up is much bigger than Andrade's and per Radio Lincs commentary on Tuesday, Andrade isn't fully attuned to league football yet.

Management team know what we can only speculate on - fitness programme, training and attitude - and much of this will have been agreed with Luque and targets set before he signed. I'd expect to see him in cup games, initially as a sub as at Vale. If he makes any league matchday squads in the next couple of months I think that would constitute progress beyond expectations and pretty well guarantee a contract extension.

Andrade, expected more but still early days possibly a goal will help his situation.DC still hunting for a winger,,,,says it all,

Really! I have been pretty impressed with Andrade so far. It's a big step up and I think he is really starting to come on in leaps and bounds

watched him in 3 games.....end product not there as yet.
WITHOUT THE BALLneeds to be on method to protect the full back.
Shooting wayward,,,will probably get a hat trick Saturday. After 10 games we can reassess. If new winger arrives he will have competition for his spot.

He scored five in two games (against Boston and Doncaster) and didn't seem to be struggling in any way when I saw him against Swindon.

Some people need to reel in their expectations somewhat.

There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that being a wide midfielder or a goalkeeper at Lincoln City is the surest way to ensure that you are only a game or two away from being "bang average" or "not up to the job" from a fans perspective

I am encouraged by Andrade's initial showings and feel that once he is settled in he will really take off. Gets on the end of stuff quite a bit for somebody who is playing wide. Was unlucky against Swindon when their keeper made a top save and wasn't it his shot that was handled against Bury? Lots more to come.

goals in friendlies mean very little.

if he gets a shirt Saturday he will have his hands full tracking back to close off their speedy winger...the lad from CRAWLEY........Boldewijn if he doesn`t then Toffolo will be toast.

I will be disappointed if Luque doesn't get at least one start in the Checkatrade. You can train as much as you want but there is no substitute for real matches and for me three starts in a low risk competition would be ideal.

Agreed. I would expect his debut to be on the 4th of September in the Mansfield match. If that doesn't happen then this initial point may be more worthy of consideration

Bold prediction: Andrade will score 15 this season.

Very bold. Would constitute an exceptional first season if this happened. Personally if he gets between 5 and 10 in all competitions I would consider that a great success as he will contribute with assists as well

I think that is also the case for goalkeepers at higher levels than us. As for wide midfielders, the expectation from them is mostly unrealistic. If they were 8 and 9/10 every game, you can bet your life they wouldn't be with us. N'Guessan is a good example, the lad used to get stick more often than praise, but we were never going to get any better than him at that time!
