Luke Waterfall

Ruskingtony

Vital 1st Team Regular
I think we should all recognise the immense contribution Luke has made to the Glub over the last two weasonc
He is Club Captain but as had to put up with being not selected in the starting line up on many occasions this season. He has never moaned in public or spat his dummy out, kept his head down and got on with it.
He is the ultimate pro and his goal today could well get us in the playoffs.
Well done Luke and thankyou.

Apologies for getting the thread totally c-ocked up in my elation of today's victory. Obviously it should say Luke Waterfall

Having just seen the highlights, my mind is not playing tricks in mental replays - that really was a monumental header, in fact it looks better than when it happened.

I can remember his first season here where he seemed to get his head on things from set pieces an awful lot but had a head like a 50 pence piece!

My mate and I actually christened him "ten Bob head " and counted his goals in £'s!
Tell you what, though, he will do for me.

I thought it may be due to some celebration water at the end of the game.?

Watched it again is it me or does magic man really jump that high what a header , boy lukes had his critics but you cant buy his tenacity and b——-s , sunday morning kids got magic hats on cant put a price on that

That really was quite a headed goal, worthy of any league. Luke Waterfall makes up for what he might lack with determination, physical presence and character - the last of these being the greatest: anyone dropped for a fly-by-night like Rob Dickie would have every right to be pissed off.

Who has so far made 5 appearances for Oxford

I thought Waterfall looked slightly of it at the beginning of the season, as DC must have thought. He wasn't the only one dropped, though - Rhead and Farman also did at points. Also took a while for Habergham to get back in.

Most improved player at Lincoln for many a season!
One of the many good things about the DC/NC is that they're not just managers. They're coaches ("We see ourselves as coaches" - NC May'16). They improve players and it's quite noticeable when they do.
