Luke McGee

A new goalkeeper, left back, midfielder and a forward were seen as the areas of most importance. Huddersfield's Holmes-Dennis crossed the left back off can Brighton's Walton the keeper?

Looking at ex-academy keeper Isted - back after spells at Southampton & Stoke - Brighton's Walton was expected but Pompey 'should' now sign Tottenham's former Peterborough loanee McGee?

Not sure how accurate, (or inaccurate) it is but I read on twitter just a few minutes ago that Spurs young keeper has signed permanently for Pompey. :35: :35:

Twitter usually knows before most things these days.

Not officially official yet but the News reckons McGee WILL be confirmed today - Wednesday.

Luke McGee has signed from Tottenham. The former Peterborough loanee - who once featured for Spurs against AC Milan in front of 75,000 fans - has signed a three year deal at Pompey.

Cannot claim to know much about him but Players' Player of the Year at Posh last season not only proves he was well thought of by his teammates BUT well rated too.

Kenny Jackett knows Luke McGee personally from his time at Spurs so I'm happy with this deal.

At 21 he's got a lot of years ahead of him AND best of all he's a permanent addition so Pompey should be covered with McGee and Alex Bass going forward.

:35:

Yep, glad to have him on board - hopefully he will be keeping clean sheets long into the future.

Will be a change from having an experienced pair of hands in goal like we had with Forde last season, but hopefully he will instill confidence in the centre backs immediately and they hit the ground running.

Yes, Forde definitely has/had experience but I'm guessing Jackett feels McGee, as Walton would have too, has the better quality?

A permanent deal on a three year contract. Add Bass into the mix and we should be sorted for a goalkeeper for the coming years - obviously Bass wouldn't accept second choice indefinitely.

Luke McGee is the Pompey no.1, right? Erm, wrong it seems as Kenny Jackett doesn't tend to agree. On-loan Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Stephen Henderson appears his go too man.

Portsmouth are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected following the clash with MK Dons.

Luke McGee, after barely a week out of the team, following the loan arrival of Stephen Henderson from Nottingham Forest, returned to the starting XI at MK Dons on Saturday.

As previously said, as much as I liked Henderson, McGee didn't deserve to be dropped and I think he most definitely did 'prove his point' at MK Dons - fine performance that saw him named as the goalkeeper in the Football League Team of the Week!
