Must have copied Brazil and Yates then!!!That is almost word for word the story they tell about Bellingham.

Pope defensively we were so solid we made it so hard for them and the more brick walls they faced the more desperate they became
Don't underestimate how well we played
Very few silly errors from us either
Yates got caught out ushering the ball out to give them their best chance
Sels nearly threw one in the net from a simple catch for any top quality keeper
Second half aina got dispossessed on edge of the box
Can't remember any more?
Because they were throwing men forward we got more chances to counter attack and CHO got the chance he needed without being doubled up on which he's not had earlier in the season.
It was also funny after that to see the Liverpool defender so obviously force CHO to take the ball down the line. Which he then did not once but twice to him and got the penalty shout.
Your last point about magnificent defensive work doesn't win the game unless the opposition panic.
I disagree - it's not panic as such imo. It's the fact they simply cannot afford to not win games like this with the pressure Man City and Arsenal put on them They NEED 3 points. Simple as that. They have to throw more men forward.
Our brick wall just stayed intact
Hence why these games including Arsenal and City away become games you will no longer need to write us off from from taking points
I fancy us to take draws and wins against anyone away with this team
I actually think we can be as successful away as we are at home this season points wise. Previous seasons predictions of how we takr points no longer applies pope
Which is chalk and cheese to where we are as we both know
You can scrap the winnable and non winnable games list
Winning at home against teams happy to come and take a point who happily stay solid throughout a game will remain the tough games to win. Some will be harder to win than yesterday for sure
Just because we can beat Liverpool away does NOT make beating your Brentfords and Palace and Everton at home ANY easier at all. Imo
If anything just puts more pressure on us and makes those teams treat us with even more respect and even happier to take a draw at our place
CHO will continue to be doubled up on
Just like we made it so tough for Liverpool yesterday
Depends where you want us to finish in the league and your expectations?I kinda fall into this camp although if you don't score a goal you can't win a game.
that does leave merson's point tho- we have the defensive solidity to not keep conceding cheap goals but we will need to find a way to break teams down that just want a point. there are only 2-3 teams who NEED to beat us.
You can judge how good that kind of player is by how much opposition fans hate them. Yates is up there with the best of them.People aren’t going to like the comparison but he is very much in the Robbie Savage category - adored by his clubs fans but loathed by everyone else. The job he does is absolutely essential.

If it's 50 points ish for now then we don't have any must win games at all
We are well on our way to that
Or does Merson think we should target Europe?
Problem is fans say they are happy with mid table but then expect to win all the home games against mid table or lower table teams
Who come to scrap for a draw and will never open up against us at any stage of the game
We've beaten a bottom three team away and a top three team away now. Both comfortably and deservedly
Drawn with 2 mid table ish teams (potentially) at home and were the better team
Unlucky not to score more
(For sure we would have really struggled to score or even create chances against our defence yesterday)
I believe Nuno demands it all the time. I get the feeling he's on their case big timeIf we can replicate that energy, work rate and game management for 75% of our games then we will be a handful for a lot of teams
I'd give this one five likes if I could.
I said on the match thread before the game that I thought this was a game for Ryan Yates. I'll bet that plenty of us thought the same.
He is actually one of our best players in terms of what he does
I know that guy. Top bloke
You can see Nuno smiling like a proud dad for a second there. He genuinely seems chuffed for this group of players.I know that guy. Top bloke
"They didn't just park the bus, they bullied our players and we were not up to it (the ref didn't help either). They set out their stall from the first whistle when Yates manhandled McAllister off the ball - which he continued to do until Macca was subbed."I've got a feeling we are gonna see quite a few frustrating afternoons like this against park the bus teams at Anfield this season,
Unless we beat Man City as well (Tongue in Cheek)Mers thought we have no chance for Europe but I was referring to teams who NEED to beat us at home- only those challenging for Europe NEED to do that.
guy from the mirror saying it hasn't cost them the league but when you look at few pts citeh actually drop, you can't help but think we probably have cost them their title challenge for this season.
Or Man City found guilty of some of the 115 (could be as high as 130) misdemeanours.Unless we beat Man City as well (Tongue in Cheek)
Aah bless, poor lambsLiverpool forum

If we can stay mid-table or above until January, we'll have our first choice midfield back (I know we can cover it, but for flexibility) and hopefully we can bring in a striker, then the second half of the season could be quite exciting.Few supporters from other teams are ready to give us credit for the way we have totally transformed ourselves over the last 4 years and think we're still a bottom of the table Championship club.
Not surprising when I have difficulty myself sometimes
To many, we're the same club that had to buy a new squad after promotion and think of us as canon fodder, just there to make up the numbers but haven't been paying attention this summer.
If we keep playing with the same level of commitment and enthusiasm and skill, we'll shock more teams than Liverpool this season. Cards have been marked and people should realise we aren't just going to roll over and fill out the fixture list any more.
