Linda, Listen, Listen!

I have a size 11 boot that would make a lovely impression on his arse. lol

Ha ha. I'd really struggle to tell that kid off for anything!

Lol...... towards the end it confirmed what I thought. Linda is his Mom.

In a normal world, Mr & Mrs Smack would be visiting botty land..... But not these days of 'political correctness' oh no!

not sure why a mom would put up with a kid calling her by her first name or 'honey' either! But it would he hard not to laugh.

Kids seem to be put on a level footing by far too many people/parents these days.

Not good! Always remember my nephew calling his nursery teacher by her first name. I was gobsmacked, but it was how they told them to talk to them.

Why? Mine was Mrs Wylde and that was that. She was the adult, I was the kid. How it should be.

The kid is what?..... about 4 or 5? If the parent(s) had brought him up proper and checked him when he first started calling her Linda, then he wouldn't be doing it now. Blame the parent(s) for letting him get away with it in the first place.

It is completely the parents fault if the child is like that. Any adult who engages in an argument with a child needs their head checked!

I must have missed that memo, spare the rod spoil the child.

There is no way that kid should be smacked in this instance.

I've smacked my son three times in his 20 month life, nothing too severe but sharp enough shock for him not to do it again. Each time he was likely to cause himself and/or his little sister injury or maybe even death.

Back chat, or helping himself to cake would never ever mean a smack, nor should it ever for any child.

I always make a point of putting IMO on my posts, but not in this case. It doesn't deserve a smack. Fact.

Why?

So a child grows up without being disciplined for such behaviour, therefore believing he/she can get away with it, till they meet someone who will kick their teeth in for talking to them like a piece of shit.

Is not such behaviour likely to result in injury or maybe even death? As that seems to be your benchmark.

I believe common decency and respect for others should be taught to children, back chat is a lack of respect for your parents/elders, IMO of course!

I think smacking the child is ott but there is clearly a lack of diciplin in the household. If smacking is the only form of diciplin you can meter out I suggest all you end up doing is feaching the child to hit.

He makes some valid points, but he needs to learn what 'this' is. Young man, it is a table cloth.
