Legalising cannabis ‘could earn Treasury £3.5bn’

It doesn't make any sense anymore. Prohibition doesn't work but we've known that for almost 100 years.

I don't know much about this subject, but I will say this; It's ok legalising it, but surely won't it open up the slippery slope into more harder/dangerous drugs. They are called drugs because it's habitual.

On the other hand, I've heard some reports in the past about cannabis being good for the treatment of certain ailments - can't remember which.

So as usual, there are two sides of the argument.

Fags and booze are drugs Pride... does that set people on the road to harder stuff?

Never been convinced by that personally.

But then, the plain fact of life is some people will take drugs, not arguing whether that is good or bad but as (as BB says) we know prohibition doesn't work, there should be a way of people who will take drugs to get clean drugs not buying from the black market where all sorts of dangerous rubbish is sold.

Clean it up, monitor it - have advice in house for those who want it and remove the 'ohhh it's illegal' element and I'd imagine the vast majority would try safely and never bother again.

Whether it would actually raise money I'm unsure about, but it would certainly save money.

That's nothing, how many billions could be saved if they closed the fucking loop holes allowing billionairs to defraud the tax man.

Just sayin...

Thats fantasy land mate it'll take every man woman and kid in the country to protest and we're all too lazy for that.

Britain, the world’s largest exporter of medical cannabis with almost half the global market, officially refuses to recognise any medical benefits.
