Leeds United-Manchester City Premier League Post Match Thread

When he learns to stop holding the ball so much, and keeps it moving, he will be spectacular.
I agree but in this match in particular he was double manned whenever he got the ball Hal, but I agree he does have that problem the same as Mahrez when he came, I expect a big improvement next season when the penny drops

Putting two on Flash should work to our advantage making space in the middle, providing he does not lose the pill, and if he does, he should track back with more gusto than he does right now.

JK is was back in our box and made a clear even though it was a 'hoof it' he is getting there.

KippaxBlue's take on the Leeds result:-

Leeds U 4-0

City moved back to the top of the Premiership after an eventually comfortable win at Elland Road. With a pretty important game on wednesday in Madrid Pep rested several key players including De Bruyne, Mahrez and Benardo. It was not the easiest of wins against a very physical Leeds who are fighting possible relegation.

However Ederson was rarely troubled and City took the lead on 12 minutes. City got a free kick on the left wing which was taken by Phil Foden. He whipped the ball in and Rodri glanced the ball down into the corner of the goal and City were one up.

A minute later Grealish got a yellow card for trying to get the ball back after he lost it. Shortly after there was a clash of heads when Laporte was trying to head clear a cross. After a delay Laporte was able to continue. It was his 150th game for the sky blues.

On 37 minutes Cancelo played a great cross-field ball to Jesus but alas his weak shot is easily saved. In added time at the end of the first half there was a 50-50 head clash between Grealish and Dallas ending with the Leeds player being stretched off.

Early in the second half Sterling who had been dangerous missed a chance but a little later City won a corner which was taken by Foden. Dias headed the ball down and there was Ake to score from close range - two nil to City. A few minutes later Ake was subbed by Zinchenko. City really needed that third goal but an effort by Gundogan went near the top corner. City put on the pressure but several efforts were blocked.

On 78 minutes we got that vital third goal. On a City break Foden put a great through ball to Jesus who was just onside and he made no mistake banging the ball past Mesuer and it was game over!

Benardo came on for Foden and Fernandinho for Rodri.

With the ref about to blow the final whistle Sterling goes down shouting for a penalty but the ball is cleared by a defender right to Fernandinho who hammers a drive into the net from outside the penalty area. Four nil and the goal difference to Liverpool down to one! City did well and the defence managed yet another clean sheet. In fact City set a new club record of 16 away games unbeaten.
