League 1 Next Season

Imps2018

Vital 1st Team Regular
WE'RE UP!!!! (I think, definitely been an anti-climatic way of doing it)

League next season:
Relegated from Championship:
Ipswich Town

Stay in League 1:

Promoted from League Two:
LINCOLN CITY

Depends if they fancy him back there or not. They might go guns out and sign championship players. They are 2 big to be in league 1!

They are not to big to be in L1. The population is similar to Lincoln. They have averaged 16,500ish this season down 2,500 over the last 3 years, likely to fall again next season and very little if any money with players on contracts that L1 will not sustain. What odds a 2nd straight relegation?

I agree with you on your points but to me they seem too big to be in league 1 they were playing in Europe not so long ago!

They are not to big to be in L1.

In the last 60 years Ipswich have been in the top flight of football for almost half that time and, until now, never been lower than the Championship.

They've also appeared 12 times in Europe, won the FA Cup, won the UEFA Cup and were Champions of England.

They also provided both of the England national team's most successful ever managers.

They are too big to be in League 1.

fortunately, what happened in the last 60 years has no bearing on what will happen in league one next season.

But they will be in league 1 - you don't get excused relegation for being 'too big' and you have to fight your way out again, which is rarely easy. In recent years Leeds, Stoke, Man City, Sunderland have all been in league 1, all 'too big' but they got there by their own shortcomings.

History counts for nothing, it's what you're doing in there here and now, and planning properly for the future which counts.

They will be in L1 therefore not to big, otherwise what is the point of promotion and relegation? I know their history it will count for Jack when next season kicks off.
