Cooled or he's turned it down to try and finish the job at Stevenage Borough and try to gain promotion to the Championship.??

Radio Sheffied phone-in show presenters were pushing Garry Monk tonight as a potential Millers manager... even though his last manager's job was a fairly unsuccessful stint with one of our local rivals, several years ago. Maybe Gary Megson has officially retired!

I remember a previous attempt by Radio Sheffield to lever "one of their own" into the Millers manager's chair, which resulted in such a backlash from Millers fans that Megson contacted the radio station and asked them to make it clear that he hadn't applied for the job!

Anyone get the feeling we're going to get second best and a large section of the Millers faithful may be disappointed.

Garry Monk, Ian Holloway and Karl Robinson were all reported as being interested in the Bristol Rovers job after Mr Barton was sacked.
Sure they do it to create news ( click bait on the internet.)

Garry Monk for RUFC?? No thanks.
 
Turning into a bit of a farce. TS often gets a free pass but in certain areas and not least manager recruitment I get the feeling he doesn't really know what he wants or how to achieve it. Wilder, Eustace, Warnock, Evans (with reservations) made some sort of sense. Monk, Richardson, Robinson, Holloway (you're joking please) do not and cannot in my view be considered better prospects than MT.
 
Richardson is favourite with some bookies and Ryan Cresswell and JFH are in the betting. Having spoken of the high calibre of applicants and a desire to appoint someone with proven Championship experience TS's credibility is on the line for me. Richardson, for example, did OK at Wigan but there were issues at the club and he has not worked in football since. He or Cresswell would be seriously underwhelming. JFH is the kind of marquee name that might appeal to TS but I suspect he would want firm assurances on major investment. If we don't get someone of the calibre of Wilder or Eustace then to me the whole episode will seem an expensive knee-jerk by a chairman who doesn't really get football.
 
No offence to Cressy, but he has never managed a league club! There is not a chance that TS will appoint him as a Championship level manager. (Might be ok on the coaching staff). I had forgotten all about Jimmy Floyd - we probably couldn't afford to get him though.

A bit of useless trivia...
It's Leam Richardsons birthday today .

He did indeed do a good job at Wigan, offered a new 3year deal then sacked 2 weeks later after a very bad run of results.
Wigan were a club in turmoil at that time and if I remember right sacking L.R. didn't save Wigan from relegation.( Sound familiar.?)
Sounds like he could be favourite now others have been ruled out.

Mr Warnock doesn't want to come whilst January, if at all .
Wilder and Eustace have bigger / higher expectations.
