Laptop advice needed.

Right, all you young funky tech-savvy kids, I'm needing advice on a new laptop.

My 10 years old one has now gone so slow it's like watching The Mighty (or indeed England) trying to make their way up to at least the half way line! It takes forever...

I need at least 16gb/512gb and it must have a SSD as my old one's main problem is the HDD slowing it down.

I'm old school so still need a Windows laptop rather than new fan-dangled things like a Surface Pro, Chromebook, 2-in-1 etc and the bigger the screen the better.

Now, here's the thing. I don't want to spend a fortune as it really only gets used for browsing, email, documents and the odd piece of software (flight sims etc).

No need to be a specific model, just your brand recommendations will suffice but if you DO have a particular model then fire away.

Cheers!

Bump.

Trying to decide between;
Lenovo (had one before)
HP
Acer
Asus (had one before)
Dell

Any hints folks?

Delayed response Bob, but if you're doing little more than emails and some streaming majority should manage.

If for your flight sim you want some slightly more improved graphics than costs can jump quite quickly for laptops.

I personnally have stuck with HP and Samsung laptops, Asus and Lenovo i've only ever used for work (and have always had issues - but whether that's work software or the laptop is debatable).

Steer away from Acer though i'd advise.

Yeah I’d recommend HP or Dell.

To be honest though spec wise you can get get what you will need for good pricing these days but you are certainly doing the right thing doing some research instead of settling for the first thing you find.
