was saying the same last night. In a sport where everyone cheats, his achievements are still staggering, especially when we consider his cancer and other issues.

Of course it did. Like any long endurance sports, there's been a history of trying to do the most to get that bit of an advantage.

Raised stacks and stacks of cash for cancer suffers, just apoligised to all the livestrong staff, had a good weep whilst he was doing it and I wouldn't mind betting that he'll soon have found redemption in finding religion...

Sometimes God acts in mystrious way and he'll surely say that this was all in God's good plan for him..

Can't wait for his 2.5 hour interview, he'll be declared a saint by the end of it...just before he gets done for perjury and gets a blizzard of lawsuits from smelly nasty businesses all wanting their endorsement and prize winning money back...

There is widespread talk that his drug abuse led to his cancer. Also, it's not as simple as 'everybody was cheating'.
He had the best of doctors, drugs, resources. He was the picture boy that cycling needed, considering his circumstances. The UCI are hopefully going down for all this too.
He was juiced up to the eyeballs and he and his people prevented other decent athletes for making a living in cycling, because they wanted to ride 'clean'.
What he did was toxic. He deserves prison and to pay back all his winnings.

I wouldn't offer it...

I suspect he is a win at all costs, no matter what it does type - attributes that are often reverred in our sportsmen...

He's obviously been told by his lawyers/PR people that the game is up, so now it's all about being tried in the court of public opinion, and if he wins them over, that might just save him from jail when he ends up in court - as for the money, chances are his lawyers can or will negociate settlements with them all, because if they don't agree, he'd end up declaring bankruptcy and they'll all end up with nothing...
