Kun Charged By FA - 3 Match Ban Confirmed

Apparently Marriner didn't see it.

Why am I not surprised?

I know Sergio put himself on offer with a silly reaction but I am getting a bit cheesed off with the continued description that he "elbowed" Winston Reid. His elbow didn't make any contact with Reid but it seems a myth is building.

He deserves a ban to be fair.

My only complaint is as usual the lack of consistency and also how Marriner can get away with saying he didn't see it when he was looking straight at it, for me Marriner should be demoted for incompetence.

Every City fan now needs to flood the FA , citing the Fellainai assault on Zaba which went unpunished.

This has made me very angry

Am I correct in recalling that Fellaini was booked for that incident? Or is my memory at fault?

Inevitable really.

Marriner taking the easy way out. If he says he day it and saw nothing in it then he's facing a sanction for sure. They have a massive get out clause by saying they missed an incident - passes the buck big time and gets them off the hook.

Stinks to high heaven, doesn't it.
But on a positive note, he gets a nice rest before he comes back to the fray.

I say establish extent of the calf injury first. If out for a month, appeal.

Why? He's guilty. They're not going to change their minds because he's injured

I don't think he is guilty of what he is charged with , or accused of . he was throwing an arm at Reid climbing over him with HIS arms. The fact that his hand( unclenched at the point of impact) hit Reid in the throat is immaterial

Even appealing in this case would be dealt with before the rags game and could be extended under the new rules, so let's take it and move on, because the rags will relax if they think we are a one man team

This is what hacks me off....

"Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero has been charged with violent conduct by the Football Association for elbowing West Ham's Winston Reid."

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/37217071

He did NOT elbow Reid. That he was silly and struck out at the player who was manhandling him cannot really be disputed? But he did not elbow the Reid - the contact appears to have been with his hand but the constant repetition of this myth by the media drives me nuts.

He has been charged with violent conduct and the more accurate description would be that he struck Reid but no, it is easier to go with the allegation that he struck him with his elbow which clearly, evidently and patently not the case. :017:

I am with you Buzz and so it appears was Pep - there will be little mileage in appealing so we get on with life and make do without him. We have done it before and there are plenty of other players in our squad capable of stepping up and scoring - Iheanacho would be a handful and a surprise package for sure

As i understand it, violent conduct includes intent. He swung an elbow, so doesn't matter whether or not he made contact with it :048:

VIOLENT CONDUCT

Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.

Intent is not actually included in the definition of violent conduct.

But it makes little odds IMO as based on this definition unless they plead that it was not deliberate or that the impact was negligible (& given Reid's discomfort that seems unlikely to fly) then he will be found guilty.

Mind you.....I thought he was challenging for the ball at the time of the incident.
