Korea

Does anybody still think Trump deserves that peace prize?

North Korea will reconsider the anticipated summit between President Donald Trump and Kim Jong Un if Washington continues to insist that Pyongyang give up its nuclear weapons, a top regime official said Tuesday night.

If the Trump administration “corners us and unilaterally demands we give up nuclear weapons we will no longer have an interest in talks and will have to reconsider whether we will accept the upcoming DPRK-US summit,” Kim added.

He deserves it about as much as Obama did.

It's like reading about Medieval British history, isn't it. Just kill anyone that might be a danger.

I was surprised at the education in Switzerland. Isn't there a danger they will become westernised?

I thought I'd separate this from all the other crap Trump is up to today.

During his formal announcement on withdrawing from a planned summit with North Korea, Trump said that both South Korea and Japan “are willing to shoulder much of the cost of any financial burden, any of the costs associated by the United States in operations” if the United States is “forced” to attack North Korea.

Kim on Nuclear weapons.

We need them to defend ourselves
We have them, we might give them up for aid, but you can't check we've given them up.
We have them - watch out.
We have them, and they can reach the US mainland now - really watch out.
We love Moon, and want to give them up.
We'll never give them - we need them to defend ourselves against US aggression.
We would love to give them up, in a staged, gradual manner.

Any guesses what comes next, anyone?

Moon is the big mover here. He tries to deflect attention off himself onto Trump, so he can get on with the job.

Kim just wants his photo op with Trump. His Dad kept trying to get a meeting with a US President, and they sensibly denied it to him until progress was made.

Even if, by some miracle, Kim does offer to denuclearise, then it won't be a quick process. Plenty of time to back out, as has happened before.

Stanford University professor and world-renowned nuclear physicist Siegfried Hecker asserted that a stepwise denuclearization process was the “solution” for North Korea, indicating that the denuclearization could take as long as 15 years to complete.

Hecker personally viewed North Korea’s uranium enrichment facilities during four visits between 2004 and 2010.

“The suggestion of shipping the North’s nuclear weapons out of the country is naïve and dangerous,” it added.

You are prepared to say that you know more than Nuclear specialist that has been to North Korea?

I'm not on about your last comment

Cracking on like you know everything and it's all Trumps fault

Nothing but sheep brains on display

Not long to wait now till we fight out who has been right all along ;)
