Well a pleasant trip to Kirkham saw us return with a 3 -2 win.
The scoreline certainly flatters them.
Had a softie in their bar pre match, advertising fans welcome to come along and watch the England game there tonight.
Plenty of staff serving and its not a bad bar stop for fans who's team are playing there.
Clearly it was going to be a game of 2 teams over 2 differing halves.
Game got off to a decent start. Taylor should have done better but at the far end it may have turned out to be a decent save. Aka espania bobbled around and Blox buried it. 1 to the good.
Good to see Morgan scurrying around and after being set up by Honeyman he made it 2 0 after about 15mins.
Honeymans' season got off to a bad start. He was down and looked hurt. Physio on but he could't carry on. Replaced by Matty Upton.
Taylor and Blox both looked busy.
PF didn't have a save to make but his kicking is poor. They had plenty of play down the wings, Ashworth and Brown in particular showing good levels of ring rust.
The Exeter lad looked physically taller then I thought he would have been and he had kept himself in and around the game.
CJ was, well CJ.
But 2 0 was a good reflection of the first half.
Complete team turnaround 2nd half bar Upton.
Ennis looked a lot fitter than his end of seasons cameos and his huge arris is somewhat reduced.
Raviolli made his debut here last season and had a mare, today was no better.
He air kicked one which rolled agonisingly wide of the post for the home side.
Upson tried a Charlie, Cjarksin was put through but their goalie saved well and Ennis couldn't control or put away the rebound.
Ennis missed a chance when he had a lot more time then he realised in front of goal.
Ennis turned his man put it exactly where Charles asked it to go but he tried to turn in instead of a first time shot and the chance was gone.
Charles hit a beauty, underside of bar, cleared and they break away and pull one back.
Literally straight from the kickoff Charles is through and he unselfishly squared it to Ennis to make it 3- 1.
Felt a bit for Charles, he also hit a shot that came back off the inside of the post too.
Fylde make it 3 2 and the gane Peters out to a deserved win.
Second half team - Coulson couple of nice passes, Upton had a cracking game. Biggish lad and looks to have a good engine on him. Played well in midfield.
There's goals in Ennis and Charles.
The 3 triallists were interesting.
The Reading lad who went to Spain was energetic enough but late on as he tired he did a couple of fouls that would have been cards on a normal day.
The Aberdeen CH did ok, hard to see and judge at the far end sane for the midfielder from Braintree.
Interesting to note that no Josh, Ollie Casey or Kouassi in the squad today.
There'll be movements in and out and its clear that the squads nowhere near complete.
Didn't see much different from the end of last season. Play it from the back, entice them on then forwards to runners
