Kiki Musampa - your memories

Hello there.

I'm writing an article about Kiki Musampa (it's a kind of Where Are They Now? thing) and I want to get fans' memories about him as a player.

Any memories/stories you have - good or bad - please post them here.
Doesn't even have to be a story/memory as such, could just be your general view on his time at City.

I'd want to use some of the your quotes for the article, which will appear on the Yahoo Football website next week. So if you don't want your comments to be used then let me know, and they won't be. All quotes will be credited to VMC.

Cheers, Kevin

Hi Kev

I'm sure a few VMC members will add a few comments at some point. As for me, yep i'll add something later.

That goal that saw us record a rare victory over Liverpool stands out.

That and the fact that he looked like the Predator and he had a great nickname - Kris.

Wore No 14, a great strike in the last minute

The mark of that Liverpool goal is that I can remember exactly where I was when it was scored. It was that significant.

Fairly average left sided midfielder. Wouldn't make the bench in today's team - or even the 'group'. Good hair.

Who was the other left sided midfielder/outside left we had at the time, his name escapes me.

I liked Albert, he was classy but a tad slow, Petrov always annoyed me, when he scored a goal he always pointed to his name on his shirt.

My best memory of Kiki Musampa?

Sitting on a coach to Detroit Airport and striking up a conversation with a Belgian family - they were all football fans, and when I mentioned Manchester City, the topic of Musampa came up.

I said that I thought he looked a decent player, and the husband chimed in with "oh he'll look good for a few games, then when he's got a contract he'll become the worst player in the world, happens at every club he goes to"

Sounds like we were lucky to give him a miss. Still, have to appreciate his goals during his brief stay with us!

As and when you've written and published your article Kevin can you let me know via email - manchestercity@vitalfootball.co.uk as I would be interested in what you've written. I might, as Vital Manchester City editor highlight the article via our front pages and social media outlets.
