Kal Naismith

Not only was his goal at the weekend his first for the Blues it was the former Rangers and Accrington wingers first goal in some 18-months!

hasn't added to his goals since that one but again been in and out of the side again - doesn't seem to be able to get a consistent run does he?

DOES look like he has a futurue at the Park now though doesn't it!

Still not sure on the guy but WHAT a goal at the weekend eh, think that has to be (Bournemouth goal was a great team effort) goal of the season for Pompey, right?

Involvement against Bristol City, then playing a Liverpool Foundation side, raised eyebrows but transfer-listed former Rangers winger Naismith could feature for Pompey...at left back!

Naismith remains transfer-listed and could go before next Wednesday's transfer deadline but Catlin has insisted Pompey aren't looking to (and do not need to) offload anyone.

Naismith was included in the side against Coventry, and scored a fine freekick to take the game to extra time, but the former Rangers winger remains transfer-listed and available.

When Kal Naismith was put on the transfer-list in the summer it didn't look as though the former Rangers and Accrington winger did have a future at Pompey.

Naismith has been a 'nearly man' in many ways since the former Rangers winger arrived at Fratton Park. Could his Grimsby winner bring him a start against an ex loan club Hartlepool?

Despite his match winning impact from the bench 54% - as opposed to 46% for of course - oppose Naismith starting against Hartlepool.

Fair?

Pompey's Kal Naismith is without a doubt showing his best Blues form at the moment - the former Rangers & Accrington winger feels it's the 'form of his career' actually.

On-loan Preston forward Doyle's torn groin muscle against Newport has finished him with former Reading and Southend man Hunt carried off at Hartlepool last week.

Portsmouth are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week's action.

Who'd have thought Naismith would not only be seen as the fans' best player in league two but arguably Pompey's best player at this stage of the season - well, when you cast your mind back to last summer, in fact even just a few months back really.

Honestly not sure who should be player of the season but if he'd played like this for most of the season, which I guess you could argue he has, it would be him.

Set to lead the line against Yeovil tomorrow too with the striker's out?

I know Rug, when he came out and said he wanted to be transfer listed, like many I wasn't too fussed. He had been shipped out on loan to Hartlepool and not made an impression at Fratton at all.

It all sounded like he was getting a bit too big for his boots and he felt he deserved a place in the team. But when we couldn't offload him he knuckled down and was a true professional, waiting for his chance and grasping it with both hands when he got it.

What I really like about him is his passion. If he gets stick from the fans, he'll give it straight back, the whole cupping his ear thing and having good old shout at certain sections of the crowd. Some don't like it but it shows he cares, I wish more people would get fired up like this when certain sections of the crowd start to get negative.

As for tomorrow, I'm not sure about starting him up top. He's more than capable but I also think Conor should be given a chance at some point, putting Kal behind him. If Baker isn't fit I'd rather Kal played in midfield, with Bennett and Lowe either side, or Roberts in the middle with Kal and Kyle out wide. It's a tough one, but I trust Cook to pick the winning team.

Yep, shows he cares and shows he's got ball - in fairness, much as many might not like me saying, like many Scots. If fans are giving it out, got to take it back.

Sounds like Cookie will do this? Then again is he just playing thing up, or down? Think it'll be a kick in the the you know what's for Chaplin and/or Kabamba if Naismith, in great form and having qualities that'll work, gets selected ahead of them... keep Naismith where he's been playing well and go with one of those two, no?
