His wife has just had a miscarriage,so that excuses him having sex with a girl who he knows is 15 and he is one of her teachers ?
However difficult he found it to show restraint,it`s too late,he`s paying the price now.
 
The guy is clearly an idiot but I challenge any of you to deny that they have had their head turned by a girl of that age. Clearly not all, not even the majority of 15 year olds are physically mature women but some most certainly are.

Heck, I have looked twice at a girl only to find out later that she was just 13, and no, before anyone suggests anything of the sort, I'm not into kids but some girls are physically mature at a young age. Mental maturity is another matter and as such, to act on such an attraction is an abuse, especially for someone in a position of trust and power such as a teacher.

Just as an example, my niece turns 16 in a few days, last year, just before her 15th birthday, I was there when someone guessed that she was turning 20 or 21. If Some 40+ year old were to take advantage of her I'd.....well I'd not be impressed but I couldn't blame him for looking and being attracted to her.

The one main difference,as you say,is that he KNEW she was 15,unlike some fellas who ogle a young girl thinking she`s 20 odd,which is fine,but this bloke had a position in the education system and was fully aware of her age,so really I don`t think he`s got much to complain about and he is indeed lucky not to have been sent down.

Also,it`s not exactly clear whether she was 15 at the outset of the 18 month affair or 13 and a half.I`m guessing she was 13 and a half,which means it wasn`t an off the cuff one night of madness.He had plenty of time to diffuse the situation
 
And just to aggravate some people who think you shouldn`t judge a book by the cover.........I don`t like the smug look on his face !

If she was stalking him as her friends have suggested, he should have done something about it. He knew her age, he was in a position of education and he is responsible.

(Before anyone makes a snipe about me having a different view where the Evans case is concerned, there is a big difference between the 2 cases)
 
Why should he go to jail though, she stalked him and wanted sex. A bit of a dodgy thing to have sex with a pupil, but he didn't deserve to go to jail for it. He was banned from working with children in the future so that's fair to be honest, not sure what the big deal is.

She's a kid, she doesn't know her mind at that age, he is a grown up and fucking well should.

I think it's weird to fuck a teenager when you're much older, but then he's been put on the sex offenders register for life and now cannot work with children or "vulnerable adults" so in my mind that's a fitting punishment for the crime.

yes he is lucky not to be sentenced to jail, many in similar cases have been, but does he really need to go to jail for it? Is he a menace to society? No one got hurt in this case, the pupil was the instigator. Maybe there is a risk he might do it again - so that's why he has been put on the sex offenders register and banned from working with children / vulnerable adults, hence why it is a fair enough punishment for this case.
 
He has obviously received preferential treatment and to blame his wife's miscarridge just proves what a weasel scumbag he is the worst sort bet it's not his first time.So David if my mates 15 year let's me shag her as long she consents that's fine then aye.Nope it's not it's abusing my position of trust I know someone doing 18 years for shagging a 15 year it was his third time so was done by the three counts and out.She consented so why should he be in jail not that i'm bothered because I hate the fucking weasel let him rot.

A 44 year old fucking a 16 year old isn't right either in my humble, but the law draws the line at that age. Under it, it's rape.

NOT using this as a put down, I think you are most fortune (!) you are about 20 odd years younger than me, or a bit more, if you are at uni.

If you are around 21 and went for one 15-16 the difference if they are mature and fully formed so to speak isn't much... Over 40 it is, I look at girls that age and think 'I wish they would wrap up a bit, they'll catch their death'

AT WORST... for the most beautiful etc I'd think I wish I was 30 years younger!

Some of the magazines and modelling agencies have a blame in this as well, you look at the girls in the adverts and think your naughty naughty thoughts... then you start to realise they are so very young, but they are pictured as sex objects and therefore are viewed as such.
