People are getting carried away with our youngsters. The jump up from the level they are at to our first 11 is massive.

I completely agree with the difference in level. I have mixed feelings about MP's ideas on keeping the younger players in house.
The cultural side of things is very important. We really need a reserves league.

I'm pretty sure Poch has sent quite a few players out on loan and signed new deals at the same time, so obviously they are still in his plans.

We didn't have anyone close to being on the required level since. Nothing to do with Poch.

That's a fair observation but he has been pretty clear about keeping people within the system if they are part of the future.
It could have changed but the one characteristic MP has shown is he believes in his "system". Who knows, perhaps loans have been added to the mix.
However, up until now, a loan has been the first step away from the club.

If we're looking to move a young player on, generally we only tie them down with a new two year deal - the fact that we've given Josh a 4 year one and that he's being told that his future is with us - would suggest we mean it and we've still got faith in him.

Alex Pritchard, Connor Ogilvie and now Onomah. ( I thought there was more tbf)
Carroll, Lesniak and Harrison have also had loan spells whilst Poch was in charge and since their loan has played for us again.
