John Lydon Interview

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
"I haven't changed my mind, I've changed my perspective" on Brexit.

Interesting on Trump. Wouldn't talk about him to start with, then brought him up himself. But he is sort of right, perhaps, the right answer but the wrong conclusion trying to get away from mainstream politicians.

I do like listening to JL, he's an awkward kind of character as he admits himself.

Not a thread for political debate, just thought people might like the interview.

I find it strange that his opinions are valued. He seems like an unsavoury character with addiction issues.

Perhaps he was the voice of a generation before or two before me?

He's just interesting, I don't always agree, I very often don't, but I love his turn of phrase, how he talks and how he really doesn't give a rats arse.

I think perhaps yes, it was a generation or two before as well. They did give a great kick up the backside of music at the awful over indulgent prog rock time and then formed many a fantastic band after the kick up the arse!

I wonder what the John Lydon of the 70's would have thought of the butter advertising, celebrity get me out of here John Lydon of the late 2000's?

As much respect I have for him and I love the Sex Pistols etc. seeing him doing all that was kind of sad. But hey, bills need to be paid I guess.

It's a pension isn't it? Not sure how much he would have made out of the Pistols etc. I didn't want to see him in the celeb thing I have to admit.

He did say the butter advert paid for him to be able to record the PIL album.

Suppose it is a different world now, the music sales don't make as much as they used to for artists.

Yeah it's a lot different now than how it used to be. It is interesting to know how much he could have made from the Pistols, but it was really just one album wasn't it?

If the money is going towards funding more records then fair enough. It's not in the same ballpark as seeing some hugely successful actor flogging watches or perfume in Japan for some extra dough.
