 not good enough can be a great stopper
But free kick and header from outside the box
Sorry not good enough
Don't start me on his distribution :doh!:
Sorry nice guy but not good enough
Great result tonight

He was culpable on both goals but he's been excellent for us this season so I can forgive him a bad game, the rest of them have had their fair share this season.

As a keeper you are between a rock and a hard place when it comes to free kicks from that range. Given how good some players are at getting the ball over the wall and into the top corner it is natural to try and cover that side of the goal....at the expense of the side you are guarding. Was taken advantage of on that score last evening and although I have some sympathy with him overall it was his side and he should have said 'if you beat the wall so be it, but you won't get a free shot on the other side'.

As for his distribution - drives me crazy too but I'm still on his side - he made a great stop early doors against Rode I recall and other key stops to keep us in games. Too many chances being created in front of him though...

I like Joe. He's a very good keeper but he is not one of the world's 'great' keepers and we are going to need to have one sooner or later if we want to be at the top of this game. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh though.

Not sure he was the only one at fault for the first, but ultimately the buck stops with him. Sagna more culpable on the second one for me, and there's not much you can do when the ball is mishea.....shouldered like that.

True, Lewandowski got lucky but Joe was in no man's land. Sagna should've done better but have to give credit to the Pole for the strength he showed, Sagna's not a centre back either which needs bearing in mind. What Kompany was doing so far across I don't know, he should be in a position to head that cross before it reaches Lewandowski.

It was a dreadful pea roller of a free to concede and what a punishment it was for the only silly foul we gave away near our danger area all night.

My biggest problem with Joe is his distribution and lack of speed in getting us going again. Himself and Nasri are both culpable of slowing everything down when they get hold of it and it narks me greatly.

Other than that, Joe has crucial experience and seniortity that I think we need to stick with.

Seem to remember his ability to play cb was one of the selling points when he signed  but accept it's not his best position.
Vinnie is beginning to worry me at times.

Vinnie has looked scared shitless all season and his passing is dreadful, nearly always a yard behind the recipient. He needs to get it together.

I think he's trying to be in too many places at the same time, instead of concentrating on his own game. Hopefully as those around him start getting back to the level we expect and know they're capable of, he can concentrate on his own game again

This !

He's the best English keeper (probably) though I've not seen much of Forster at Southampton. He's not world class though. I think Nasri had him in mind with his recent comments and the fact that 90% of the team are world class. I think the rest of the team know that Joe isn't the best around. He wouldn't get in many teams in the top tier of Europe. I doubt even Chelsea or the 'rags' would be interested as they have better already.

I'd have him on a par with De Gea myself. Thing is there's not too many that are a serious improvement on him and those that are e.g. Neuer, Courtois are unobtainable so we need to back him.

I will back him BD, but his positioning for the free kick was substandard, the wall was supposed to do its job and if the kick beats that you cannot fault the keeper, Joe should have been covering the far post and he wasn't .

However he has saved us a few points this season and on one to ones I bet he is ahead on points.

Needs to work on that distribution, the keeper coach should be working on this as most of his long clearances went to the opposition.

Distribution has always been poor so there's no point in having a beef with that last night. But the free kick was appallingly bad. That's the big embarrassment for a keeper; being beaten on his side of the goal. No mans land for the second too. But he did make one or two good saves, and he did against Swansea too, so think we should lay off Harty. His defenders are hardly doing him any favours this season...

On the Minnie point I thought mangla had his best game apart from that foul

Poor pass to Fernando at one stage too that put us in a spot of bother but that aside he was good, immense in the first half hour with one outstanding block too.

Not too bothered about those. Its the ones that regularly end up in Colin Bell level 3 that do my nut in.

I thought the early save wasn't given the credit due to it, although he was caught badly flat footed for the first goal. Alonso stroked it into the net.
The second he was possibly a yard or two further off his line than he should have been. Element of luck though with it catching the shoulder of Lewdanowski.
