Jlloyd Samuel

Terrible news, I remember seeing him play a couple of times for us and couldn't believe we had him, seemed far too good for our level.

Only 37, such a waste. RIP

Absolutely gutted. One of the most cultured players I’ve ever seen in a Gills shirt and such a sad way to go. RIP J’Lloyd.

IMO probably the best loan signing we've had in my time and as others have said was way to good for our level. A really nice guy too.

Such a shame to be taken so young. RIP J'Lloyd.

Incredibly Sad News !!.Rest in Peace J Lloyd Samuel !!.One of my favourite ever loanees here !!.He was a class act on and day off the pitch !!.He always was happy and had a smile on his face !!.My thoughts are with his family and friends and all the ‘football family’ !!. ??

To add further, it says a lot about the man when he is generally regarded as one of, if not THE best loan signings we've ever had and he was only with us for about three months (eight appearances) but made a big impact on our memories.
Don't forget, he was only about 20 years old but I had forgotten until today that at the time, was an England under 21 international.

Such shocking and upsetting news. Condolences to his family.

The greatest tribute I can give his football ability is that although we were in the Championship when he came to us on loan, everyone I know immediately accepted that here was no way we would get the opportunity to sign him on a permanent basis.

Calm, controlled and classy player. RIP.

Sad news RIP J Lloyd Samuel I will always remember him a class player .Amazing he never went on to play for England regularly at senior level .

We all remember him in the full, exuberant flush of youth with way more pace and ability than we were used to. A short and magical loan spell, which makes this awful news more keenly felt. Way too young. RIP

Sad loss - in his short time with us he gained a lot of respect and was by far the best loan player we have ever had on our team

We've had a few loan players that have improved us.. McEveley and Douglas... Cody... Lee and Whelpdale for example, but as others have rightly said J'Lloyd was at another level. Great natural talent and looked so comfortable on the ball. Classy player.

RIP

Thinking of his family, those children will be gutted when dad doesn't collect them from school. RIP.
