On what should be a very positive day for us as a club there’s some very sad news breaking, Jlloyd Samuel has died in a car crash.

Massive shame, and quite ironic as his name was only just recently brought back up coz of Chessie matching his record of playing every minute in a season. He was the last player to do so for us before Chessie this season.

was only talking about Jlloyd with a friend last weekend on how we thought he was a good left back he was for us at the time, very shocked to hear this sad news.

That 2003/04 season where he played every single game at left back and also the season after 04/05 he was absolutely superb.

Him and Gareth Barry had an almost telepathic understanding down that left hand side. Jlloyd used to play the ball long down the line for Barry to pick up.

Tailed off after that though, think once that partnership was 'found out' he failed to really deliver the same performances, but he was a really good player for those 2 years.

Always seem a nice down to earth lad too.
