Jeremy Corbyn New leader Labour old/new

Think I heard right that about 80% of the Labour mps didn't vote for this leader as well. That makes it interesting!

Should hear what cabinet he chooses in the next day or so!

This is good...

I think it's interesting that British people will finally have an alternative to Margaret Thatcher in the next election, if Corbyn can last that long.

My problem with Corbyn is that he is focused on curing the symptoms and not the problem. He is too weak to bring any real change and he'll be pushed out as soon as The Establishment get a chance.

Still, it's nice that people get to see someone who isn't desperately campaigning for corporate interests in the face of reality.

The media clip today of him refusing to talk to the reporter is comedy, it also appears as though he's wearing high heels? Definitely has the look of a cross dresser about him.

Looking forward to the PMQ's this week, should be interesting.

Corbyn is anti establishment, anti armed forces and embraces terrorists as friends. He's also from a very privileged background and as Harriet Harmond said " made it impossible to be considered leader as she's not deemed posh enough!" The leftie dead on set in London with vote for him as will some hard and fast Northern Trade Unionists. Fortunately the majority won't. End to the Labour Party? No they'll just be looking for a leader to take them forward after the humiliation, they'll probably face, in 2020.

Thankfully he's just the leader of the opposition and won't be able to carry out his ludicrous agenda.

Oh I think they've guaranteed that they will be the opposition now to be honest. I am not convinced even he wanted this, he just wanted to open up the debate on the labour party.

What's his agenda, Skeggy?

Yes it looks like people have got confused with voting for a leader of an opposition , rather than a potential PM. A bit of me quite likes the fact that he is the opposite of all theses production line career MP's who all seem to look and sound the same , but I don't think a left wing or a right wing party can ever be in power . It's the middle ground that counts nowadays.

Oh good grief he's put Diane Abbott into the shadow cabinet. I'd feel the same way about John Redmond in the interest of balance!

Diane Abbott backed him, so that was bound to happen!

I like her on this week, that is about all !

Hilarious result and will keep the country out of Labour's hands for the next election at least. Cannot wait for This Week on thursday, must see telly, and also the coming months as the Labour party rip itself apart. If I was the Lib Dems I would be rushing to claim that centre left ground Labour are vacating at speed.

Abolish the Armed forces, take every immigrant and refugee going, get rid of trident and knowing labour abolish every type of state school to form big love ins whilst the dead on lefties spend thousands sending their off spring to the more exclusive fee paying schools. Then of course allowing his mates in the trade unions too hold the country for ransom whilst they strike strike and strike again. Plus how stupid having a leader who will be 70 at the next election.

He has appointed a mental health shadow cabinet minister tonight. Luciana Berger will directly work on mental health issues and consider how they can best be addressed by the NHS and prioritised by a Labour government.

That I do agree with and is well over due. We could do with it in the Tory party as mental health is such a difficult subject, still grossly misunderstood.

I suppose I am going to agree on somethings. Here is the link to the article.

Went in a bit strong on him the other night when I was in a bad mood but today he won a few brownie points by not singing our awful national anthem. It is nothing but a pathetic homage to royalty and I am glad to see somebody in a position of power who is against monarchy.

It's interesting that Vital Villa has reacted so strongly against him. From what I've heard, his policies are very sensible.

His age is a concern but it's not unusual for politicians to be old. John McCain is 79.

the guy's an arse.

Must admit I can't see why the press/people are so surprised he didn't sing the national anthem, he's a republican, he'd like to see the royal family abolished.

Some have said that was disrespectful to the troops. Bollocks was it. Standing in quiet contemplation is fine.

Or do we live in a fascist state where you HAVE to sing about the royals or anything else the authorities tell us to do?

I'm not pro the guy, I don't think we can ever lean that far left (just as I don't want to lean far right) but the press really are going for this one, sells papers I guess.
