Jedi is not a religion, Charity Commission rules

Vital Football Legend
Jediism, the worship of the mythology of Star Wars, is not a religion, the Charity Commission has ruled.

The commission rejected an application to grant charitable status to The Temple of the Jedi Order.

It said Jediism did not "promote moral or ethical improvement" for charity law purposes in England and Wales.

:22: they shall feel the force.

:21:

I have to say that I'm sick to death of the religious persecution us Jedi's have to face, day in and day out.

:123:

Oh dear! The Jedi's will not be happy this Christmas. I hope they don't go after the baby Jesus like Herod did :62:

It's amazing how seriously Trekkies take this stuff. I'd imagine the process of registering a religion is pretty time consuming. I guess they have nothing better to do.

It was the charity commission anyway, presumably they didn't get a big enough donation - difficult when Jedi's give up earthy belongings.

I can't see that any of the existing religions "promote moral or ethical improvement" more than Jediism. What a farce.

There core is supposed to be about promoting moral and ethical improvement. Whether they do it or not is another matter.

There is alot of good done in the name of faith, by groups, people etc. however that isn't newsworthy.

Alot of the support groups now available are through the church and other faiths, as they give something that the public services can't afford.

The Trussell Group (foodbanks) were started by the Christian church. REFLECT (crisis pregnancy) Christianity. CAP (Christians Against Poverty) was started through the Christian faith too. CAP is a better version of debt conciliatory services. That's just the main 3. Started and still going through the church.

Then there is all the missionary work done by the church (umbrella) abroad as well as at home here.

I am not saying this to be argumentative Heath. Just this is the stuff you dont hear alot about done in the name of faith. Why? Cos it isn't sensationalist and it doesn't sell media space

And you are saying us Jedi's aren't also a force for good?

See what I mean folks, daily persecution.

I think he is vital to our midfield.

True but he's not yet achieved a worshipable status, one day maybe.
