Blackpool are locked in a transfer tussle with Wycombe Wanderers for Gillingham winger Mark Marshall according to Football Insider.
The 33-year-old is
out of contract at the end of the 2019/20 season, which seems to have seen interest in his services rise as the January transfer window progresses.
Marshall has made
22 appearances for Gillingham this term, and has
one assist to his name but is yet to register a goal, which will be slightly frustrating for the winger.
A move to Blackpool or Wycombe Wanderers could be a tempting proposition though, as both of the interested parties are challenging for promotion into the Championship this season.
Blackpool are currently sat 15th in the League One table, and will be hoping they can break out of a poor run of form at the earliest of opportunities.
Simon Grayson’s side might be further down the table than Gillingham (14th) currently are, but they have a game in hand, as well as being only seven points adrift of the play-off positions, so a top-six finish certainly shouldn’t be ruled out.
Whilst the Chairboys are sat second in the third tier standings, and are seemingly keen to add some depth to their squad before the transfer window closes.
Blackpool are next in action on Saturday when they host Tranmere Rovers, in a game which they’ll be keen to pick up a much-needed three points.
