January 2026 Transfer thread

Emegha from Strasbourg on loan would be a good deal. He goes to Chelsea in summer and he could be blooded with us. Im sure Rosenior would like to see how he performs in the league, although as we know, blue co pick the team

Surely Tudgay or McCleary could do a job until the end of the season?
For 10k ,or whatever it was from Bromley, McCleary was a cracking buy . I used to really like him , never forget that 4 goal haul at Leeds in that 3-7 win. Guedioura used to spread the play and put the ball in the channel between the centre halves & full backs for McCleary to run on to . We never seem to do that any more or rarely anyway.

Are we linked with him ?

19 of his plus 5 others with direct involvement at Wolves where he brokered.

Had his fingers in MGW, deal.

Here's a glimpse of his dealings with Maranakis. You can see why he then pulled the plug on Nuno, once KJ appeared.

Billionaires and their playground
Joorbachian is not your typical agent.

The number of players he represents has decreased significantly over the years.

He now acts has a broker and takes a cut from various deals.

Quite why brokers are needed on transfers is beyond me.

He is spending a large part of his time with the Racehorses these days; he has purchased two large stables in Newmarket and has a young up coming trainer just started for him.

Not sure how long he will last - he has been getting rid of trainers at an alarming rate

Marinakis is one of the main investors in Kia's racing enterprise . Amo Racing. They broke the record for the most expensive yearling colt ever sold in Europe. £4.5m , they are heavily investing .

He is an investor, but I wouldnt say he is the main one - Apollo Capital are the main investors, they have put up eye watering amounts of money.

KJ spent over 60m on yearlings in last years sales, which is phenominal and on a par with Goldolphin.

He somehow manages to get other people to pay for the horses and runs them under Amo Racing colours.

Its a huge gamble; if the horses turn out to be nothing more than moderate, it will take the best part of ten years to get a return on your investment.

Happy days if you get a good one; you clean up with the breeding

The way to become a millionaire trainer from greyhound racing is to begin with two million!

King of Steel was 2023 Derby runner up and won the Champion stakes.
Probably best one they've had yet off the top of my head.

Forest need a striker. Preferably one with a record of scoring in PL. reports have frequently surfaced on Strand Larsen at Wolves for £40m. The Birmingham papers are today suggesting a swap plus money deal is on the cards with McAtee as makeweight. If McAtee makes £30m of this deal I would snatch their hands off. Edwards and Wolves are hoping for a miracle and some points in next two games, before window closes. They have replacement in Todu. Building a possession team around McAtee in championship has merit.

Sangare back v Arsenal. Yates back v Braga. Some chatter that Juve will recall Luiz as he is unlikely to hit 15 x 45 minute games. How tight is PSR?

Highly doubt we will get 20m return for McAtee let alone 30m.

I wouldn't go near that.

Strand Larsen has the same PL goals this season as Jesus.

Wolves fans HIGHLY critical of him this season - his work rate and attitude.

That is not going to go well with our current manager, and shouldn't go well with any PL manager.

McAtee a very good player with potential, but not suited to a struggling team. He is MGW's longer term replacement. That is a can we cannot afford to kick down the road.

JSL is a risk given attitude and recent performance. He is a massive risk at £40m and a massive risk at losing McAtee for the future. McAtee is a £5m liability on PSR for the four seasons after this one. He could reasonably be a big part of our team for that time. I very, very seriously doubt that JSL would be.

This is the kind of deal people look back on when they are playing Wycombe in League One suddenly and point to the reasons why

So far if feels like the focus of this window is completely (and expensively) undoing all the good long term work of the last window, seemingly in a panic.

If the current manager is the cause of that, then simple - don't let him. He isn't in charge of the club and knew that from the start

If Forest simply signed Callum Wilson for six months, with Sangare and Yates to return, and find a left back, that would all be excellent.

I agree, although rumours are he is going to Saudi

En-Nesyri looks the most promising of the targets stated. Taller than Awoniyi and Jesus, nearly the height of Wood. Great in the air, good at set pieces and long shots, good at finishing. Has done well in Spain over multiple seasons and should be in prime

Wouldn't turn my nose up at Wilson , he might not have the turn of pace he used to have but he is an instinctive finisher . He'll need to be with our supply line to be fair. Him & Jesus could be an effective front pair . Might be time to think about using only one winger seeing how ineffective they are for us most of the time .
4-1-3-2 .

Admittedly only saw his 50 goals at Seville on Youtube but was really impressed with him , fairly quick & athletic for a big bloke as well.
