It looks a very settled squad on paper - only four players due to be out of contract in the summer (Vickers, Shackell, Rhead and the crocked Habergham) plus O'Connor who must have triggered his second year by now if appearance-based.

Only 2 players who have been here more than 2 seasons permanently though.

When are we going to be shifting habergham into the unlikely to play column, with mccombe?
The worry there is that they have no idea when he may return. Secondly, is a bone oedema more a condition, rather than an injury that can be healed? I have no medical knowledge to speak of, but none of that sounds very promising.

I think that shows how quickly we have evolved as a football club! We have come on at such a tremendous rate under The Cowleys and let's be honest most of the players they have signed have been excellent at the level we were at and the squad keeps getting better and better.

When a new manager arrives and makes new signings the old lines get trotted out like ‘they need a season to settle’ and ‘ next year will be our year’. Haven’t noticed this with us, our squad has changed so much and improved so dramatically without a hitch it’s unbelievable.
For an apparent mild mannered and measured persona DC has a real ruthless streak about him and is totally focused on what and who is needed to take us forward. Who knows whose position is in line for a trade up in the next year. Anyone remember Farman, Wood, Raggett, Hawkridge, Arnold, Green and Co, all thought by some to be indispensable and irreplaceable.

Let's not do them a disservice, they were champions after all!! Our champions no less…

I understand the overarching sentiment that DC is a shrewd business man and can really handle himself well in the transfer market. But, we owe a lot to some of those names you mentioned.

*I’m not arguing he hasn’t improved the squad but you can’t ignore the achievements of those players listed. It's all a snapsot in time type thing, they were fantastic at the time and now we are blessed with another crop of fantastic players.

Slightly off topic, but sure I heard this morning that David Beckham has taken a 10 % holding in Salford City.
