Jamal Lowe

I dunno ....... the manager had two seasons in the Championship, stayed up comfortably ( in the end) in his first season, and had us mid table *and with a positive goal difference) in his second.

Lowe was great for Cook at Pompey ........ I'd say he was probably a little over-awed (or possibly too lackadaisical) when he first came to Wigan. It took him some time, but he won most of us over ........... just like Cook really.
Well he's won the swans over " bargain of the season" they're saying - tks Begbies you utter bell ends

Or maybe Begbies are completely incompetent 😉
Bregbies are incompetent but at the end of the day he never broke any pots with us and never looked like being worth anything like what we payed out for him.Cook didn't help playing Lowe too deep most of the time. Maybe Swansea are actually using him as a proper attacking midfielder rather than having him stroll around hapless and invisible too deep. Once Cook started going for it when the relegation signs were flashing Lowe did look better. Naismith too started looking like a footballer when played as an attacking mid fielder. If these adjustments had have been made earlier by Cook we may very well have stayed up, been bought out earlier and not seen an exodus of players leaving for peanuts.

Spot on 👍
Even if he hadn't come to towards the end of the season who would be stupid enough to sell anything for 1/3 of its cost a year after buying it ?
Some depreciation that - 😳

I'm guessing every club knew he was available and like any auction it's a buyers market. If he was seen as a massive bargain why weren't clubs queuing up for him? Think some on here haven't realised the drop in transfer fees across football due to the pandemic. The games on its knees and with no income generated for over a year it won't get any better.

There was always a very good player in Lowe but pre lockdown we just hadn't seen enough of it. We were getting something like 1 good game for every 5 or 6 bad ones. But post lockdown he came back physically bigger and his confidence rebuilt and he was putting in good performances and getting goals and assists regulary.

He just picked up at Swansea where he left of with us and after settling into Championship level competition he's continuing to grow into the league and now showing how good a player he is regulary. It's a hell of a turn around - a lot players would have crumbled and gone hiding rather than bounced back stronger at how bad things were going for him. For example Massey.

It's such a shame we suffered through the growing pains persisting with him when he wasnt performing only for someone else to reap the true benefits. One of the many injustices we've experienced thanks to being put in Administration.

Everyone could see the difference in Lowe after the lockdown, he had bulked up a lot and was much more difficult to knock off the ball.
This accompanied by the team seeming to gel better contributed to our vast improvement.
We were never getting battered, just making stupid errors and getting punished for them.
The tactics didn't change, as some seem to keep saying, we just had more of the run of the ball, more confidence, worked better as a team and made less errors.
Nothing to do with Cook suddenly deciding to be more attacking, just the players that he knew were in there somewhere and the faith he had in them came to fruition.

More importantly were the relevant clauses put into his deal with Swansea so we get more money if he scores 10+ goals or a bonus if he helps Swansea get promoted?

The only bonus in the public arena as far as I'm aware is the skim off any future transfer fee for the admins.

So you know that how, perhaps you could show some proof for once of your outrageous clams.
It's in the public arena and been debated on here that the admins have skim offs (a figure of £250k per transaction) on future transfers - there is no proof of any benefit to the club - that's the point maybe you could confirm what they may be ?.
If you can't then maybe someone with access could ask the club / admins.
All for the sake of transparency for the fans. Or maybe you think that may "upset" someone as well ?

Funny isn't it .................. one man's "skim off" is another man's "inventive way of paying the (due) fees".

The admins will have (due) fees to be paid. Either these future transfer payments form part of those fees, or they don't. One thing's for sure though .............. they won't be "on top of" any (due) fees.

(By the way .......it's £250k full stop ........ not per transaction).

The following is an extract from the link below:

What we have done is refuse bid after bid to get what’s known as the add-ons, Gelhardt for example went for £800K but there are £1m of potential add-ons on that contract, the other players we’ve sold have add-ons worth up to £7m.

Strictly that money will come to us as administrators what we have said is that we need the first £250K as a buffer and we will sell you the rest for £1. So any new owner going forward over the next five years can expect a steady stream of income all things being equal, you won’t get full amount but certainly £1m+.

Thanks for the clarification Moonay
Where does it say 250k full stop though ?
Also not sure of £1m in total add ons is a good deal for Joffy !

It's defo a skim off 😉

It clearly says "the first £250k", and they'll sell the rest for £1.

Agree re Joffy. Still a great deal for Leeds.

For the sake of argument, let's say their fees are £3m.............

- They'll get £2.75m + the £250k.
- They won't get £3m + the £250k
- Neither will they get lot's of £250ks

Sorry if I have interpreted the article wrong but to me that reads that there are £7m of add ons negotiated but we will probably only get £1m. Either the admins are taking a bigger chunk than 250k or the conditions of meeting the add ons are so far fetched they aren't worth the paper they are written on.

Nah, it says there's a potential of £7m ......... but not every one might get triggered. For example, there may be one for if someone gets an international cap ........ but they may not get one, so it'll never be realised.

However, the £1m are almost "guaranteed" over the next 5 years.

Thought the £1m was just for Joffy ?
If it's £1m across a whole first team squad not so much at all ?
The bit I'm most interested in are the sell on % clauses - are there any and at what % on each player ?.
Can't be as part of the "up to £7m" as it's uncertain how much our given away talent may move on for in future ?
Maybe Mr Moreno will be more forthcoming when he is able to 🤔
Otherwise the "where's the McCarthy money" will be replaced with "where's the 2019/20 first team and academy starlets money"

The first option is as "fair enough" if indeed it isn't a fees top up.
Are you sure it stops there though - to me the statement from Krasner you kindly shared seems, perhaps intentionally, vague
Option 2 and 3 surely would be unacceptable to any new owner ? 🤔
As always with this shitshow lots of supplemental questions of the admins would seem appropriate!
