Young Millers defender was back in action ( on loan) for Gateshead yesterday (19/07/20) in National League North play-off v Brackley .He was playing on the left side of the Gateshead "back three". He put the "Heed" ahead, following a free kick, but Brackley equalised almost straight from the re-start. Full-time score 1-1. Gateshead won 6-5 in the penalty shoot-out (Cooper scored one of the penalties too). Gateshead play Boston in the NLN play-off semi-final on Saturday. Internet match commentary from the BBC yesterday, and the Boston game likely to be broadcast too.

Can't find any footage of Jake Cooper's goal or shoot-out penalty, but there is a short post-match interview with him on Gateshead FC Official Twitter

Boston U. v Gateshead play-off SF at 5.30pm today (25/07/20). Commentary on BBC Radio Lincolnshire and on internet.
Cooper in starting line up for Gateshead

Updates...

HT 2-1. Gateshead took an early lead, but Boston came back with two disputed penalties. Cooper has been booked.

FT 5-3. Action packed second half after Gateshead had quickly equalised. More goals flew in, then Boston held on at the end as the "Heed" squandered several late chances. Final score was a bit flattering to the "Pilgrims" , judging fom the commentary. Cooper played the whole game . Sounded like he played ok and it was good experience for the lad.

Boston now face Altrincham in the NLN play-off final, which will be their final game at their York Street ground (Some older Millers fans will have seen us win there a couple of times).

Cooper returns to the NYS, at least for now. With Tilt's injury, maybe Cooper will not be going back out on loan? His spell at Gateshead was a good move for him though , considering the many Millers 2019/20 reserves fixtures that were called off because of the bad weather , waterlogged pitches, then the coronavirus

I agree with you Mike, good for him to be getting proper football games. Now he can push on and possibly get in our first team.
