I may have missed something obvious but with him not making the bench for a couple of games is he injured or simply not been in the 18?

Not selected, same as Shodipo, who unlike Brown travelled at the weekend. Watched him running pre match at Fleetwood.
Assuming Reeco not fit tomorrow, one of them will come back in. Would seem Shodipo would be the obvious one as an attacking option with Hackett dropping out.
