Jack Moylan to Cardiff City?

Yep now confirmed

It was always going to happen when this was mentioned a few days ago. It’s still quite a hard pill to swallow though. Guess we will only really know the true figures involved when the next set of accounts come out.

I wish Jack all the best, and hope that any add ons will come to fruition for us because that will soften the blow in the coming months and years.

As things stand, gives us an even bigger hole to fill in the attacking and creative department, we are going to need some pretty decent signings to give us a chance of staying in the Championship IMO.

That extra bit of sparkle in the squad last season. Great to watch.
Even more sparkle required now.

The recruitment team really has its work cut out now. As per the Squad: June 2026 thread, we now have as many goalkeepers (3) as strikers (3), only 4 central midfielders but an impressive 11 defenders. Looks really unbalanced at the moment.

Great player, some absolute belting goals for us, won’t forget reading away and the commentary that accompanied his goal. CHAMPIONSHIP

Musings: Did he internally ask for a transfer and if he did, as per the old urban myth, would that reduce any share of a fee to him arising from his transfer. How much of the transfer fee do we need to pass to his old club in Ireland. 20% would be quite a hit.

Yep, probably the only real Championship quality player we could say was definitely ready to make the step up.

It’s taken us about 65 years to get here, going to be an absolutely huge 26 days or so to see if we can bring that quality in to help us stay here.

At least all is confirmed now. Best of luck to Jack. A great player to watch and genuinely gutted he has chosen to go. However as always, a very short career and no issues with him moving on and getting a huge increase. With the record fee incoming we will hopefully be able to replicate what we did with Jovans cash and strengthen across the board. An exciting few weeks of incoming players is imminent hopefully 👊💥⚽

Interesting the two injuries are mentioned, do wonder how much the medical department had a say in this deal? Is he seen as high risk of having another spell out?

Hell of a player who gave us some incredible memories. Thank you Jack.
Great player and leaves with our best wishes. I think most of his injuries were ankle based when with us, so I'm sure our Romanian assassin can nobble him when we face Cardiff 👌🏻💪🏻👊🏻

As Jez mentioned in the article about Jack, it’s very difficult to deny someone the chance to get a huge pay-rise (at a bigger club) and expect them to perform to their maximum.

It was the right decision for all parties, as much as it pains me to accept.

Thanks for the memories, Jack. Good luck in 44 games next season!

Given the size of the fee from Shelbourne, I'd expect they're due a decent sell on fee.

As well as being one of finest footballers to wear an Imps shirt, he's always come over as one of the most decent persons to wear one too. From what Liam said about his conduct on R Lincs earlier this week, and Jez's comments today, there's nothing to suggest there's anything underhand on Jack's behalf in generating this move.

Disappointed with his new destination, think he could have done better but clearly there was a deal which worked for all parties and reflects Cardiff's ambitions.

Best of luck Jack, hope you (continue to) smash it (except for two matches this season), and heartfelt thanks for some lifelong memories.
