Jack Moylan to Cardiff City?

Living in the material world, I hope we have the money up front, considering Cardiff's £221m net liabilities and the identity of their owner.

I had Cardiff finishing below us until today, now we have an awful lot to do.

Great return on our investment and had a superb season last year.

So close to the season makes it incredibly tougher and arguably we have a weaker team heading into the Championship than we have in League one.

We start stronger than we started last season. We're probably currently slightly weaker than we finished but business between now and the end of the month should deal with that.

The challenge of course is that step up a division!

Replacing Jack will need more than Mikkel Miller.

And that business has started...

Melia sounds an exciting young talent in great demand, we've done well to sign him and he clearly doesn't think we're doomed before we start!

as before - disappointed it’s to a team who are a direct rival in the relegation fight. And disappointed to hear Moylan pushed for that move. I could fully accept if it was a championship team pushing for play offs like Skubala has done.

Difficult to say ‘Good luck Jack’

Whilst a footballer has a short career and would want to earn as much money as possible, it’s certainly strange the drastic turn of events.
Signs a new four year deal in March/April, says he loves the city, the fans and wants to be promoted with the imps and play in the Championship for the imps to wanting to leave at Cardiff’s offer.

Must have been some serious wonga on offer..

You know they all say that. He will love cardiff too. And their fans, it is no big deal.

Shame that he leaves us, but that's the nature of football, and normality for all but the top clubs. It's our model. Thinking dispassionately, it's good business for all concerned in my view. But, it's a real shame not to see him in an Imps shirt in the Championship, and I'm never keen on selling to a rival. But, I'm sure we'll find other options over the next few weeks.

The other thing is, playing devils advocate, if we have a poor season and Jack, along with the rest of the squad struggles to reach anywhere near the same heights as last season, his stock probably wouldn’t be quite as high as it is now. It’s a huge blow to lose him, but as long as the valuation of the club has been met, and Jack wanted to leave, there’s not a lot more we can do.

I wish him the best, he provided us with some great moments last season. Slightly surprised a side that is expected to be fighting at the top didn’t come in with a decent offer and at least match the wages offered by Cardiff. ( Admittedly I don’t know the package offered, but I would have thought some of the bigger clubs in the division particularly with the parachute payments would have out bid Cardiff).

I hope we have a decent sell on fee, as I think he could go a lot further up the ladder.

Found this part of the statement from Jez quite interesting

‘with Jack missing almost a calendar year with two major injuries, we have multiplied our initial investment’

Not sure who/why that was added for??
Perhaps it’s a bit like selling a used car you know has the habit of breaking down. Nice to drive but don’t go too far from home in it
