Jack Moylan to Cardiff City?

Think Jefferies can step up into the role to some extent! Looked very much an adequate replacement for Moylan when coming on for him over the second half of last season following his injury. Nobody wants him to go but if he does it's not the end of the world, we get a bit of money at least

Absolutely gutted but we have to accept that this will always happen. I seem to recall Jez saying we were very well protected with his contract, so Hopefully the sell on etc. will be the gift that keeps giving. For me the big thing is that Jack really is an exciting player to watch. He doesn’t just score goals, he scores wonder goals. He gets you off your seat. That winner at Reading will always be there in my mind. Thanks for some wonderful memories Jack, please be injured for the Cardiff games!

Jefferies is nowhere near Moylan.

I like him. Solid, hard working player who can cover few positions. Just not good enough on any of them to play first team in Championship.
Unless we want to be relegated by Christmas which looks more and more likely.

That we want to be relegated by Christmas? Sure

Unfortunately you've just described quite a few of our players there, that is the very worrying fact about our squad at present, Moylan is one of the few that doesn't apply to.

No doubt Jack Moylan will be getting far bigger wages for going to Cardiff.

It is exactly like Michael Skubala leaving. Bigger club, more opportunity etc.

However, I am really disappointed that both of them have / probably will go. Moylan is our best player.

To start the new season without two of our key people is very sad. The Championship was always going to be difficult - we are under no illusions. But to lose two of the key weapons that Lincoln had to compete doesn't bode well. If we go down, then fine. However, we dont want to go down with a whimper. How would the 25/26 Lincoln team and manager cope in the Championship? We will never know.

The club have a good record at recruiting - Moylan is a clear example of this. Hopefully this continues, and the club builds. We have no idea who these new players from Romania and potentially Denmark are. Hopefully, they turn into sensational players who we sell on in the future.

To me, it feels if we are entering an exciting season with a lot of fingers being crossed. I wasn't expecting this on trophy day. I thought we would be complementing the team we already have - I thought Lincoln would be raiding the best talent from League One - not requiring a rebuild after losing Skubala and Moylan. If we hadn't gone up, then no issues on these two going, but we went up as Champions....

Jefferies is my dark house for this season. Think he could become a key man with a proper run, even with the step up. Seems to really be maturing as a player and just seems to have knack of making things happen.

Great. I thought we needed Moylan plus some more creativity. Now we really need two new Moylans...
Super hard to get but if we can find some proper pace from somewhere to add to wide areas, and then a massive 6 ft 8 forward that's not a bad mix

The thing is, if the fee for Moylan is around the 3 million mark, that’s about 50 times profit (if my maths is right). The club have been very good at getting players in and selling for decent money. I am gutted if Jack goes but unfortunately that is our model, it just stings more because in a year or two he could have gone for maybe even triple that.

It’s a huge 30 days to get some extra quality in, we need some quality frontmen in the team but also some ammunition and to provide enough chances for them.

The timing is bad, b ut it happens these days. The reported fee is nothing short of daylight robbery. As soon as we were promoted Moylan became a 10m player in my view. He's a full international now too and his career is going only one way. Cardiff (or Bristol for that matter) are pretty much sideways moves for him and he shlould be out of their leagues regarding transfer fee. If he hd been going to Boro or Palace or Sunderland or even (shudder) money bags Wrexham, I could understand it. I am angry and dismayed at this, having lost Skubala and had an (my opinion) pretty shambolic pre-season, we are miles off where we need to be going into the biggest season of my lifetime.

I hope you're right but seriously doubt it.
