Ivor Broadis

Red Wimp

Vital Football Legend
Just read an obituary of Ivor Broadis who was England's oldest living international up until his death this week. I presume there will be some tribute at the game tomorrow as he was appointed player-manager at Carlisle after 2nd World War at age of 23! Mainly because he was stationed nearby but he scored 52 goals in 2 seasons before going on to play for Sunderland ( he transferred himself!) , Man City, Newcastle & back to Carlisle
He played in the 1954 World Cup and was the 1st England pair to score a brace in one game at the World Cup

There will be a minute's silence for Broadis.

Apparently lived in the same house in Carlisle for 55 years.
