I've Done It

Today I passed my driving test (at the second attempt) to become a fully fledged bus driver. Of course this will mean I will be unable to listen to the games if I am at work but given the current situation I have to ask myself if I'm actually missing anything lol). Got my uniform today and my driving licence is en route to DVLA for them to update with my D class allowance. Finally and officially following in my dad's footsteps even if it is years after he first told me I should try for it. In less than 3 months I've gone from having never sat behind the steering wheel of a bus to passing a test. Hopefully this job can take me to retirement and a decent pension.

:1: :1: :1: :1: Well done star dude, you ay half done well to fight back from tough times and it is always great hear people have a break in life, we will have to start nick naming you blakey from on the buses now :17: :35: :7:

Well done mate!!! It's great tot see someone looking for a job for life. Very refreshing in today's world.

Watch out for some of the old boys on here. They might have their Buspasses, but they can still cause trouble.

Great news starchild, fabulous and agree with Heath, great someone looking and planning properly. Too many finish one job and sit on their backsides doing nothing but moaning.

Top stuff mate. Chuffed for you.

I didn't realise that you knew what as bus is?

cheers all, me and my mates used to call my dad Blakey cos he was an inspector - I'm just Reg Varney's character Stan Butler lol. The missus was taking snaps of me in my uniform this morning - she was like a proud mum who's son had just started big school. Got three days in classroom now - one day doing customer care and 2 days ticket machine training. Then next week out driving different buses for 3 or 4 days and then I'm onto shifts and doing the job for real. Already had lots of drivers welcoming me to the fold - think I'm going to like this

Congratulations.
My Dad used to drive buses in Brum.
Talking about bus passes, we were on a bus from Chorley to Wigan yesterday morning - I know how to show my wife a good time - and I'd say that of the 40 people on board 35 had a pass. And, as you ask, we gave Wigan Pier a miss this time.
