Ours is a bit awkward this year.

My sister invited me, Natalie, Buddy and my mom up to Leeds to spend Xmas with them, but we kind of want to wake up in our own house with Buddy xmas day, plus as the girls are spending xmas day with their Dad we will pick them up Boxing Day for a 2nd xmas and its a bit of a rush from Leeds to do that.

So we turned it down. My mom then got a cob on and decided she's going to go abroad and spend it with her brothers.

Now we've been invited to our friends which we think we are gonna do as it works great. Still get to wake up in our house with Buddy, go to our friends in Stourbridge for Xmas dinner and a night of fun, then on Boxing Day we will actually be closer to Stourport to pick the girls up than we would have been at home. Perfect....

My moms probably gonna have a fit when she finds out though.

Family's! Who'd have em!!!

Not sure on the pressie front yet. Me and Nat never really buy each other anything as we prefer to spend what money we have on the kids, the tree, decorations, food, booze etc...

Won't go mad on Buddy coz he won't even know what's going on, and I'm sure he'll get lots from relatives, so thinking just 1 bigish thing like a jungle gym or a baby bike, then 2 or 3 little things. Already got him a 'That's not my penguin' book. He loves that series. Already got 4 others.

The girls will be getting new phones. They've had their first phones for 2 years now and are up for renewal. Their first ones were the cheapest going, just to prove they could look after them, so will treat them to a nicer one this time round. Probably a Samsung Galaxy A3.

Not sure what else they want yet. They've mentioned loads but with me its in one ear out the other, so I'll get them to make a list.... check it twice.... find out their naughty.... and buy them fuck all... Deano is coming to town.

:180:

Payday tomorrow so the present buying can start in earnest. Until Saturday when I 'll be skint again for a month. lol

Yes, sort of awkward but then you took your mom on holiday with you and you now have your own family so what you all want to do is just as important.

I'd not feel too guilty mate as you clearly know what you want to do and your friends invite doesn't affect the general idea of waking up at your own gaff with Buddy dude.

Me?

It's shoulder day...!

I think you should go and do some volunteer work at the local childrens hospice. Dress up as Santa and spread some joy you miserable fcuker! HAHAHA.

And who is going to work my deltoids? Do you even stop and think before you talk?! :128:

:137:

Nah, I take mom and dad out to lunch (well, last year worked out well, I had full on flu and didn't leave the house for two weeks :3: ) but the afternoon I will most likely train IF I'm back training by then (still nursing the arm injury) as it is what I enjoy.

They then will probably come round to watch a film on the night.

It's low key all the way for me, best times were when my nephew and niece were younger, it was worth the effort then, although I still didn't decorate my place, just no need!

You have to watch Elf with Will Ferrell this year.

I know you hate Xmas and you hate Will Ferrell but his characters name is Buddy. Do you hate Buddy? Do you???

The best bit I enjoy about Christmas is Boxing Day.

Always get up early and go for a run , it's absolutely deserted and not a sound to be heard , then of course its either Villa and the racing from Kempton or both.

My sister in law has recently returned home with her twin boys from a liverpool special hospital. The boys were born 31/2 months premature and spent 4 months in intensive care. They both had to have several operations including heart surgery.

Soooo. What better present than their first villa tops which will be ready for them come the big day.

I sent a general enquiry to villa to try and get their picture in their new villa tops in a programme the family can thank the hospital and we can welcome our newest supporters. I have had no reply as yet.

Rather than a general enquiry does anyone know the best avenue for getting them a little slot on a programme?

Glad to hear the boys are doing well enough to return home mate.

My sister had a similar experience. Theo was born 3 months premature weighing 1.5lbs, and had a similar experience with a long time in hospital and several ops on heart, stomach, bladder, bowel, winky, eyes, the works.

He's now 2 and a half and the happiest little fella in the world. Kids really are amazing! And the doctors and nurses who help these prem babies deserve medals!

Unfortunately as his old man is a Liverpool fan i wasn't able to get him a Villa top. Maybe i could this xmas just to cause trouble? lol

This will be our first Christmas since our son who was born 21 years ago won't be with us because 6 months ago, he moved in with his Spanish girlfriend and moved to Gijon in Asturias, Spain http://www.spain.info/en_GB/que-quieres/ciudades-pueblos/otros-destinos/gijon.html

They both work for the same Spanish airline so it makes sense but man, I'm going to miss him.

Still he is happy with a lovely girl so I'm really happy for them and their future.

Already we have been asked to move over there to share the enjoyment of their proposed wedding and then children in a few years and we just might actually do it!!

We will be buying a new mattress for our bed.....not exactly personal exciting gifts but will certainly be appreciated for a lot longer than most gifts that we've given/recieved over the years. Not sure about the kids yet.

We'll be back in Dublin for Christmas. I think we're going to go with the flow and let our family carve us up (metaphorically speaking!) between them over the few days.
As regards pressies, we have 17 grandchildren so that tends to clean us out.
Mrs BBJ likes the idea of getting each of them an individual gift - my view is that the older ones prefer a few bob and that the parents of the young ones will know what they're otherwise getting and can buy them something else. Also, as 8 of our grandchildren live outside Ireland, I resent lashing out sizeable sums of money to the Post Office.
So what usually happens is that we agree to give them money and then, when I've done that, herself goes off and buys them pressies anyway....

lol, yes, BBJ... know your place mate, no point even trying I don't think!

Your logic makes perfect sense to us because we are also men. You've been married long enough to know you can't defy a ladies logic though!

I will be at home watching the kids open the presents they unwrap and lose interest in them in a very short time whilst i think eyt again to myself ''why do i bother buying so many toys next year i will just buy one each for them and a carboard box'', home for christmas is the best for me.

Fly home from the US on the 19th and probably end up going home to drop my stuff and then its a night in Galway with my mates from school.

From there I have 9 days to see everyone for my once a year trip. So will be at home with the parents for dinner and will be out of Xmas eve with my brothers and one night I will be in dublin with my best mate from Uni.

After that the other nights are up for grabs first come first serve. Then back to NY on the 29th.

Deano your doing what's right for you and that is right. Your Mom will get over it. My eldest will be at his future in law for Christmas lunch this year. It will just be Mr KK younger Mr KK and I. Two of mine also live abroad.

I will be Skyping with them. Maybe you can do that with your Mom

My eldest and his fiancée will be here for Christmas tea. Life changes. We plan to go out to Canada for Christmas 2017, to my daughters and my youngest the Christmas after.

As for Christmas with us it starts the 1st of Dec when we put the dec's up. First Saturday of December we go down to Lincoln to meet up with my brothers and their families for lunch and the Christmas market.

The 2nd weekend of December my lads have there best mates, girlfriends/fiancée etc round and we have a big family pre Christmas lunch together.

The weekend before Christmas on the Sunday we go to the Carol Service. It is held at our youth minister parents farm in the barn there. It is a wonderful afternoon and really helps the Christmas feel. The Monday we shall be going up to see our Grandson the week of Christmas.

New Year we go down to David family in Wales. Do what's right for you Deano.
