It could be worse - we could be PSG

As much as City remain the bete noir of the Premier League for the outrageous sin of spending money on the club, the infrastructure and the players it could be worse, we could be PSG.

Apparently they are getting some stick from the French media after throwing away a lead against a team second from bottom of Ligue 1 and then losing the fixture to boot. Rumours abound of players going over the head of the manager to gripe to the owner (Silva and Ibrahamovic); special privileges being afforded to certain players Animal-Farm style with Ibramhimovic being permitted to ignore training ground parking spots :pmsl: and not required to attend matches when injured or suspended and change the catering contract beacuse he didn't like the food :155: On top of this Cavani and Lavezzi have been suspended for being late back after the Christmas break.

Altogether sounds like the sort of sh*t we can do without so I can regard these tribulations with a feeling of schadenfraude as there is a lingering feeling that they got off more lightly than City did when the UEFA FFP Police turned them over.

The PSG situation is what everyone predicted would happen at City when we bought a bunch of "overpaid primadonnas"

To a certain extent we did go through a phase of that with the likes of Tevez, Balotelli and a few others thinking they were bigger than the team.

However, our 'holistic' approach has seen us doing much more careful vetting of the personalities of the players we sign, and we now seem to have a much more balanced, humble group of players (as much as multi-millionaire pampered modern footballers can be humble), so hats off to the club management for getting that right.

I think the next team that will suffer a bout of players throwing their toys out of the pram when they don't get their own way will be our neighbours in Stretford.

Did I say I think?

Angel di Maria is being targeted by PSG, and Falcao's agent says he'll probably leave over the summer. So, even if the rags get back into the Top 4, they'll be shit again next year.
