Is Vydra on his way out?

Manofpride

Vital Youth Team
The Championships best striker left out of the starting eleven and on the Bench!
Now do you think any other manager in the Championship would have done that?

I think Rowett not starting him is a bit odd, not starting Vydra says something is a miss for me. What must Vydra be thinking, golden boot and on the bench. If Rowett keeps playing this formation it looks like Vyds will be on his way or is there a buyer for him alraedy? it just seems funny we haven't been starting him!

Rumour on another forum that he handed his keys in yesterday morning. Now whether that was house keys, Moor Farm keys or club car keys wasn't mentioned so it's all rather vague.

Grs reason has always been to protect Vyds from a battering from unscrupulous opposition players. Fulham aren't cloggers. Just doesn't make sense. It did against the likes of Cardiff.

Tbf Vydra was our worst player on Friday night and he’s been doing a good job coming off the bench to use his pace against tired defenders...so why not? Didn’t come as much of a surprise to me and I don’t see anything sinister in it.
As regards the keys...what keys? He’s spoken well of how much he’s enjoyed his football this season and he won the golden boot.
Mischief making methinks...but he’d fetch a bob or two...£15m?

Think we will be cashing in on Vydra in the closed season. Should give us enough money to buy a second rate Championship striker with a couple of goals in him.

I think it is going to be a season of selling and trying to make do next season. We have far to many old timers, has beens and hangers on to go forward, unless we can off load succesfully and rebuild within two months, which is very doubtful as most players of any renown will be at the World Cup or on the beaches......

Agree Bloomer! No chance for tired old legs to play 2 games at high intensity in 3days after the slog of a season that is the Championship. Time to start the rebuild but with high wages, lengthy contracts and generally valueless players (except Vydra and Carson) quite how is another question!!

.

We've got plenty of second rate championship strikers already on the books! Blackman, Bent, Martin, Nugent, Jerome, Mason Bennett, maybe even Winnall. Don't need to buy any more!

What about that Wolves boy at Bournemouth? Sell Vyds and buy him should be okie dokie to me.
I think we can get some good buys. What is hoped is we get a John Terry type player in too. Someone from the Premier who's left his club but has loads of experience to lead the side either in defense or midfield.
Or we could try and get Bamford back. Promoted or not I doubt Boro look at him as a long term striker.

Why are we keen to offload the golden boot player? We've still got Bryson, Martin, Butterfield, Forsyth, Olsen, Johnson... to get rid of 1st! I don't know what direction our club's about to take, but I have little confidence.

Saying get rid is one thing, getting rid is another. We may have to rebuild whilst remaining lumbered one way or another with the garbage!! In such a scenario selling Vydra might be the only way to give GR any flexibility to develop the 1st team if not the squad!!

Butterfield. I have it from a semi reliable source that the swap including Winnall was always intended to become permanent this summer provided both players were fit. Winnall is to undergo some stringent tests to discover the chances of his fully recovering. A positive signal from the specialist will see the deal sealed.

Well to be honest can Buttercup show his face again around Derby, after what he said about us and Sheffield Wednesday. Guess we had the last laugh though when you look where the Wendies finished :loser::ooops:

Adi Can't see Brys

I can't see Brys, no ;)

But seriously, we have below average players on long term contracts, someone has seriously screwed up and we'll continue to suffer.

Can’t help wondering if that ‘someone’ had the initials SR. Hopefully it’ll all come out in the wash...sooner the better as far as I’m concerned.

In the meantime...the Ojo lad at Scunthorpe looks more than a little useful. One of your lot I believe MA.

Looks like another rebuilding job is due at Derby as some of your better players will seek their ambitions elsewhere and you wont want to be left with the dross. Your more recent expenditure on players is unsustainable whereas the Forest current squad cost only 7 million so move over Sheep we are about to take over. :utv:

Sale of Vydra no bad thing - his value must be at its peak after golden boot and realistically will he do it again? Doubt it. Just make sure we get a sensible price and profit on him.

Came from a Dutch club though...Willem II...didn’t he?

Today's Telegraph has a report penned by John Percy this morning on Vydra and other players. He mentions an £8M fee for Vydra. Ridiculously low IMO.

We know that MM wants to reduce the wage bill as he has said so. In the article Rowett is quoted as saying (paraphrased) that after years of managers spending willy nilly, he is the one now having to balance the books.

I think we are still OK with regard to FFP and that this move is more down to MM not wanting to throw "good money after bad" than any FFP danger. I may be wrong but that is my take on it.

The piece contains, however, caveats such as "it is understood", "there could be interest in" and "Derby could also listen to" so Percy has taken some fact and extrapolated it to make a story which may or may not prove to be true. As ever, it is a piece of crystal ball gazing based on some fact. We shall see how close to the truth JP is........ or how far from. What is sure, is that this will be read by fans and then be the subject of great discussion in fora and on general social media such as InstaFaceTwit.

The players mentioned as possible exiteers (new word) are Carson, Keogh, Martin and Anya.
