Is this guy on a death wish?

I was pretty shocked to read Sky News today, that the Navy Seal who killed Bin Laden, has 'come' out and 'named' himself, reportedly.

I personally think he is on a death wish. Thinking of the money over his and his family safety and even his unit who he was with at the time. Won't he spend the rest of his life looking over his shoulder?.

Thoughts please.

Skeggy I will be especially interested to hear your thoughts too, if that's O.K?

Navy SEAL Who Killed Bin Laden Is Revealed

.....................................

The former Navy SEAL who shot and killed Osama bin Laden has been identified for the first time as Rob O'Neill.

The revelation on the military website SOFREP came ahead of a Fox News interview in which Mr O'Neill is expected to discuss the May 2011 raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan, where the terror mastermind was killed.

The 38-year-old is described as a veteran Navy SEAL who had concluded several tours of duty, including in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Cashing in perhaps, but at what price?

I know if I was him, I'd be keeping my mouth well and firmly shut, for the sake of my family.

And who is Steven Mitchell Skeggy? :19: Oh ofcourse it's an alias so you can't tell :14:

The book under a pseudonym is 1 thing. The whole 'outing' job is utter lunacy IMHO.

I doubt the Navy Seals will have to pay him anything at all for long. Unless ofcourse his name is really pseudonym and that picture isn't really him! God my mind does work overtime sometimes to come up with some stretching the imagination theories.

Seriously though why?. Al-Quada maybe washed up, but IS it is a perfect excuse. I can't believe his family have agreed to it either.

The old saying 'he's taken leave of his senses' comes to mind

OMG it is insane: A row breaks out, on who killed Bin Laden. I mean why would you? Apparently 2 of them want to take the glory. I don't remember the other story in 2012 breaking. Mind you just rereading the other guy wrote a book, so maybe it didn't get the same type of publicity. I it did, I didn't see it. Is that guy under his real name or pseudonym

Osama Bin Laden killing: US Navy Seals row over shooting

......................................................................................

A public row has arisen over which US commando fired the shot that killed Osama Bin Laden, more than three years after the al-Qaeda leader's death.

Ex-Navy Seal Robert O'Neill, 38, has told the Washington Post in an interview that he fired the fatal shot.

This contradicts the account of Matt Bissonnette, another former Seal involved in the raid, in a 2012 book.

The al-Qaeda leader was killed in a 2011 Navy Seal raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

Navy Seals usually abide by a code of silence that forbids them from publicly taking credit for their actions.

Mr O'Neill, who retired in 2012, had previously told his story anonymously to Esquire magazine

Salman Rushdie is still doing ok.

I presume he is still alive, well and still in hiding then?..
HAHA yes old Salman is still in hiding but tbf he did upset a shit load more people than this bloke ever will.Personally I don't think the threat to Rob O'neill is that great now Isis has over took Al Quaeda which is in decline now. This bloke has done Abu Bakr al-Bagdhadi's dirty work for him in getting rid of Bin Laden.

Given it was the yanks, the only surprise is they didn't shoot each other by mistake.

God yes I remember the Salman Rushie ''affair' as it was called, to well. We lived in Bingley at the time 6 miles from Bradford, in the gateway to the dales The other was the gateway to fear.

We couldn't go into Bradford city centre back then as they were book burning on the street and threatening the British white people and that's going back to 1989.

Mind you I wouldn't want to go into Bradford city centre now anyhow. Been back there once 3 years ago. The place is so dank, depressing, full of empty shops and what are filled, look so tired and gloomy.

The place is enough to have you reaching for the tablets. Not a place to go if your depressed (or a Villa fan for that matter)

The bustling vibrancy of the city has gone and left is gloom and darkness.
