Is Pep Guardiola The Alchemist?

How on earth has Pep Guardiola managed to make last season’s so-called average Manchester City players into world-beaters? Is Pep the alchemist?

Let’s face it, Aleksandar Kolarov, Raheem Sterling and possibly Kevin De Bruyne didn’t exactly moist the average City fan loins last season but now, WOW, it’s like signing three brand new players. I could mention one or two others but I bet these three have never been in such good form as they are right now.

Bit unfair on Red Kev, thought he was pretty good last season, not as good as he has been thus far this season mind.

Sterling came in for a lot of criticism last term but didn't he make the CL team from the group stages? - plus there was that goal against the Cherries.

I have despaired of AK13 as a left back but he does seem to have brought his A game to the left centre back spot...

I think it's just a matter of playing to their strengths. As much as I liked Manuel, he didn't seem to be able to bring out the best in our players over a sustained period (Pep might not be able to either). Aleks is definitely under the influence of some voodoo majick though :006:

I was in the my Granddad could coach Barcelona tent before he started. Now I am starting to believe in Pep, although it is still early days and injuries are always a possibility.

I was one of the biggest critics of RS, wanted him gone . But I am always ready to eat humble pie and my words. He has been a revelation .

I had always thought that the impact a coach can have , is limited, but Pep has put that idea to rest, not just with RS, but Kolorov , who I had always liked has been nothing short of astounding.

The impact he has had on our club , in such a short time has been phenomenal.

To be fair seac, he's just rediscovered the form he showed at Liverpool ( and in fits and starts for us last season )that's the difference with having a coach that is building for the future as opposed to one that's just holding the fort.

Sterling and AK13 have both been excellent - with the former last season's fairly mundane displays could probably be seen as a dip whereas with Kolarov I'd pretty much despaired of him.

Long may it continue...
