Is it time to nationalise football?

Finally, a football subject we can discuss, albeit virus related.

Given that these footballers still want paying crazy amounts, leaving clubs to ask for tax payers support is it time that we nationalise football to protect clubs players and fans in the long term?

For all it’s rampant anti socialism the USA & their stupid cowards rugby, mans netball & drunk rounders they do seem to do things quite equitably.

Never thought about it previously, but it's not a bad idea. I'm in.

Think it would need a maximum wage. The more i think on it the more i think i like it.

Could have a lot of advantages to regulating the money side of the game.

I think they should probably look at scrapping it altogether and replacing it with a 'Running Man' style system.

I think its only appropriate to look in to that the way society is headed.

Interesting take on the greed in football and the current discussion about players not being put on furlough but non playing staff (who can ill afford it) are.

Quite good on the players being accused of being greedy:

He’s a really interesting person, very self-effacing and kind. He has given away all of his £200,000-per-month wages for about three years now, donating it to various charities and investing in projects, anonymously where possible. His position is that Premier League footballers are massively overpaid and that something needs to be done about it, preferably a radical wage cap. He’s very critical of the people in football, from agents to club owners and directors, and “all the flies that circle around the shit”, almost all of whom he says are “horrible greedy bastards”.

Cool read. Have to agree with it. The fact fact that we cant or wont implement something like suggests we should have a shake up.

I don’t want to sound like Brian Clough but I think a great deal of the problem is agents

Clubs used to have too much control, then agents came along and now the players have too much control.

Fans, as always, have little to none !
