Is it time to go 442?

The Fear

A Wise Man (once sat next to him)
With the injuries we now have, is it perhaps time to go to 442, have Hogan and Grabban up front?

Thoughts folks, want to do an article on it using my and your views!

We've had really rotten luck with injuries this season. I don't think there is another side in the division who could have come through them and still be in with a shout of automatic promotion.

Losing both Green and Albert is rough but not enough to change the system. It's time to size up the squad and see what we can find, again.

No. No need to panic after one defeat , we need to keep the same system that has served us so well , but get the right personnel in place. O'Hare must play a role as he is the nearest player we have to replace super Jack. The left wing role is a real problem with Green also injured. Maybe Tony Morley can play.

Don't think 4-4-2 would be any better, probably worse. The thing about our revival is that a lot of goals and assists have come from midfield, and by shrinking midfield we'd be eating into that. We have enough problems with getting the midfield firing without Jack anyway.

Can RHM play LW? Worth a shot, I'd have thought. Or play him RW and shove Snoddy in the Jack role, but I don't know who then plays LW; possibly Barney, but I think he's better in the middle.

Only thing about 4-5-1 is who plays up front. Could be Hogan, Grabban or Davis. I'd be tempted to stick with Hogan. Alternatively could play Hogan LW and one of Grabban or Davis in the middle.

Not an easy decision, but surely we our "huge" squad we ought to come up with something.

The real problem is LW. If we move Snoddy, we lose effectiveness on the right too. I'd leave him be. Thor might do a job on the left but he isn't great there. Is there anyone in the youth teams that can step up?

Never seen much of Grabban , I couldn't honestly tell you if he's a poacher like Hogan or a target man like Davis or something in between . He's obviously nothing special or he'd be in the Bournemouth team . and not on loan to us at his age .
I do know I'm sick of seeing Scott chasing about aimlessly on his own hoping something drops his way like it did for about 3 or 4 games in 30 odd he's played on his own.
He isn't Koj who can make his own chances , he needs chances created for him and we haven't done that really have we, despite what some seem to think . Haven't exactly played to set him up I don't feel? His hold up play isn't good enough to play on his own , in fact it's piss poor as he seems to just jump at defenders rather than show for the ball at all. I know it's not his game but it's the game he's being asked to play . So I'll leave it there , before I have to mention the B word

Whatever system we go with, heavy responsibility on Snodgrass over the next couple of games to provide that creative spark. If O'Hare is ready, I'd happily see him put in but strikes me that Bruce is a bit more conservative than that, so we'll probably end up 442 by default.

Said in the Preston thread, I reckon we'll look something like this:

Johnstone

Tuanzebe / Chester / Terry / Hutton

Snodgrass / Jedinak / Hourihane / Bjarnason

Hogan / Grabban (or Davis)

but I would happily see O'Hare instead of Grabban/Davis.
