In the light of Paul Gadd's 3rd sexual offences conviction today, I wonder if it's possible for such high profile defendants to get a fair trial.

Don't misunderstand me, even if his conviction on this occasion is incorrect, I think he should be behind bars based on his previous convictions.

I appreciate that all celebrity cases are more complicated regarding the fairness of the trial but when there is a previous related conviction there, is our legal system capable of finding the truth in order to dispence appropriate justice?

As it is, guilty of these latest convictions or not, I hope he rots in there.

Well, even if he was innocent of a charge against him, he's undoubtedly a dangerous pervert who should never again be free, he's got enough evidence against him on the whole, as you say, rot in there!

Its crazy how we have created a society where people are too scared to open up about the path they find themselves on. This guy has squirmed, Lied, pretence tears, etc...Absolutely unbelievable how we have suppressed these minds so much that they cant even be honest and true to who & what they are. Fancy dying like that, that you had to live your life as a lie for the way you were born, or for the way that you found your mind working. And the worrying thing is, that the amount of celebrities getting caught for such behaviour, these problems are widespread.

What's the alternative then GT? I know you won't suggest that we allow peodaphilia so how are we to help them not live a lie and become accepted?

Well personally(and not to turn this into another religious debate) VOTN - I think Jesus was onto something; no judgement, love thy neighbour, no discriminations, no prejudices, all equal...etc, etc. I think "if" we could have adapted that lifestyle, built into us from generation to generation, we would have a society where by people would be more open, honest and not scared of how they were built, or the evil thoughts that may process in their minds. Yet instead we have created a society where we categorise and judge, rather than acceptance and understanding.

Very slowly and very painfully with a blunt instrument SKEGGY.
Then I`d shove them up his nostrils and push them right in using a rusty screwdriver.

But the very nature of his attraction requires judgement in order to secure the safety of our children. As soon as a peado is identified we have a duty to protect our children from them do we not?

hook them up with adult midgets and have midget pride festivals? :69:

With secret courts, courts behind closed doors and judges deciding what evidence they wish to take into account and which they choose to ignore, with a system where you can be locked away in a mental institution for years for no reason and with no recourse, I'm more concerned if it is possible for people like us to get a fair trial.

As for GG, read Skeggy and Club.

I actually laughed out loud at that. Brilliant!

He raped a 12 year old ffs.

what absolute nonsense you talk. You don't accept this sort, you put them out of their misery.

Not to turn this into a religious thread you say... then you think Jesus would have turned the other cheek.

His creator wouldn't ...eye for an eye... vengeful God.

If he did that to anyone I knew I'd chop his fecking head off given half a chance.

:16:

The man needs locking away as he is a danger to others. Jesus never said that consequences for behaviour couldn't happen. He said to forgive/turn the other cheek yes.

To forgive (as hatred and anger only mess up the person who has been violated) doesn't means the perpetrator shouldn't have consequences for their behaviour.

Gary Glitter/Paul Gadd will never be safe. He is a dangerous man so therefore being locked away is the punishment and is correct. Personally given his history he should be locked up for life. There doesn't seem any likelihood of rehabilitation for him, given his track record, so behind bars he should stay for the sake of all

Green tea I'm trying to understand the above quote , if have read it right you advocate that if all disfunctional people in some way " fest up " to what they " do/long to do " that it would help us as a society get over or live with there ways until we used to or just accept ?

I have to ask you , are you a parent ? As I find it hard to grasp that any parent would post such a statement on a topic like this even if you try to equate some form of religious slant on it .

No mate and neither should they .

Not by a jury of his peers.

Just as a side note.

Did anyone watch 'the peadophile next door'- it is right and proper that we do not accept peadophila but it did make me think about how to best deal with the problem. And obviously our current way of thinking isn't working.

Also, for some weird reason, I sing 'leader of the gang' to my daughter. She thinks it's funny but I have to stop myself because I feel disgusted doing it.

It's kinda hard isn't it Lewis? I know your much younger than me, however Glitter was the 1st 1 to be done for this stuff. It was another part of my childhood memories messed up and yes that has carried on as I was teen at the time they were at there peak.

She has no clue, she's a baby but it makes her smile. But then any singing makes her smile.

And I'm a crap singer.

She like my ukuelele too.

She's a bit weird.

Lewis,I`ll let you into a little secret.....
When she smiles,it`s because of you. It`s not the ukulele and she`s not weird, she just smiles cos Daddy`s there.

Okay, that`s my soppy shit done for the next 10 years.
