Is it curtains for Bonner?

It’s a matter of time I have no confidence that he can turn this around. When we were first defeated by grimsby we looked for a response, what proceeded was defeat after defeat, and then a shambolic draw to swindon who were pummeled by colchester and sit bottom of the league, and they had ten men ffs. Tactically he looks inept throwing strikers on to remedy a lack of goals, chopping and changing formations and personnel indicates to me he doesn’t know what best to do. I wanted a reaction tonight and we certainly didn’t get it.

Surely normally it would be. But can't see him being sacked given you cant really blame a manager if you've sacked 3 in just over a year. Even if we did sack him, does anyone have any confidence in the club appointing anyone decent to replace him given we have inexperienced owners and a commercial background managing director?

We don’t have a coherent way of playing.
The endless injuries haven’t helped, but then you have to question why we are getting so many, is it down to the training?

He’s lasted longer than Barnier. We have managers the way the French have prime ministers, or to put it another way, France has prime ministers the way Gillingham have managers. I can see a Le Figaro headline in this

“Gillingham! Pire que Gillingham!! Pour l’amour de Dieu!”

For me remove Coleman form the starting lineup, just fucking attack for pity sake, he didn’t play poorly but for me he doesn’t have a positive impact on the team, always sideways, or backwards never shoots and does safety first. Johnny Williams is often criticized but I’d have back in this team alongside McKenzie, if we go down, go down guns a blazing. I miss the old days when we used to throw the kitchen sink at it, this lot just recycle recycle and cross to no one.

I did think he might get the axe if we lost today, or at Salford. If he is still in charge next Saturday I think anything less than a win and we will be discussing who our next manager should be.

It's a shame that Bonner isn't getting results, as I like him as a person and it will always be the manager who gets the chop. I just hope we can fix whatever is going wrong. Maybe and that is a big maybe, a new managerial approach can click with the players and see some progress.

Bring back Steve Lovell. He'd get us playing with passion and scoring goals. The bloke's a legend who's always been there for us in times of struggle but never had a proper budget. Give him the chance to get us promoted, I reckon he'd do it.

Quite like the idea of the Gang of Four at the moment

Was given a new three year deal before he had even played for Bonner, if he can't play effectively for Bonner then one of them has to go or we are going nowhere.

At the moment Bonner is walking a tightrope for sure. He could resign but it would probably take him half an hour to get to the point.

Certainly doesn't look like the players are playing for him, do they care?

I've got loads of splinters from sitting on this fence.
How can we go from playing half decent football, to playing like a pub team.
Does he have the dressing room, he talks well, but it doesnt show on the touch line.
I would send in some of us, to give a team talk.

I still say things changed after the post Barrow comments when he really pissed on everybody's bonfire about going top. If it was reverse psychology, it didn't work for since then it's been disastrous. Yes, the players are performing like a disjointed bunch of cardboard cut outs and should take their share of the blame but it's the manager that has to take the rap.

I never wanted Harris to be sacked.
I never wanted Clemence to be sacked.
I've got no problem with Bonner getting sacked.

Harsh, but for me he has lost the players.

We lost to Bromley and most importantly showed little fight, lost to Harrogate, accrington, Newport, Grimsby, Bradford, crewe got lucky against chesterfield, lucky to a poor Morecambe side, got away with it at Fleetwood too…..the blokes a fraud. We’re nowhere near good enough and yes the players should shoulder some of the blame but I’d argue we are worse than previous and with a very fancied side.

Something has to change. I can't see enough changes being made to the squad to save the season. Therefore, the only option is to change the management team (and I include Hess in that) and hope that the new incumbant can polish a turd.

Yeah he’s going to have to go. If he wasn’t the 3rd manager in 18 months there’d be no doubt about it to anyone, effectively he’s lucky that we’re now confused about who’s to blame anymore. We are playing like a team that’ll get relegated but we’ve a top 6 budget - ergo , he has to go.
