Hmm all a bit silly. However just as silly is the obsession with Iran. I've a feeling call it irrational that every Iranian dose not get up in the morning and go to bed at night wanting us all dead.

:19:

I know Galvin naively I wonder if we keep needing enemies to jump- start our moribund economies.

Because the Iranian government is mental?
It's like North Korea and Iran have stockpiled insanity for a year just to release it all this month.

I worked in Iran for a long while; the intelligent majority are sick to death of the regime they now live under but as was shown at the last 'election' there is nothing free or fair about Persian society anymore...

They'll shrug of Ahmadinejad and his murderous dictatorship soon and when they do it will make Libya and Syria look like a picnic, unless they can string him and his cohorts up pretty early on.

They'll struggle to shrug him off when he's got a fleet of these stealth fighters at his disposal!

the problem at the moment is that he is slowly but surely murdering all leaders of any organised opposition to him..

The revolutionary guard are his personal hit squad now, and if you aren't killed in police custody, you quickly become one of the new disappeared and end up on the end of a piano wire hanging from a crane..

I try not to keep up to date with the middle east. It annoys me too much.
Have you seen the North Korean 'american attack' video yet?

No, can't say I have...is it available..?

here's a site worth keeping up with, the opposition continues to grow, of course the opposition has no chance in the June elections now as the candidates have to pass an 'Islamic state test', which basically means if you don't agree with everything the President says and does, you're excluded from standing..

Ahx, ok just watched it..mental..

Sooner or later the Chinese will have had enough of them too..

What will they do then? North Korea is well beyond the point of dealing with.
Their entire population is almost irrevocably brain washed. They ate their own children rather than complain about the government during the famine.

I just hope the Iranian president does go into space... and doesn't make it back.

Surely the point of a stealth fighter is no one sees it so why announce it??????

I was the only English employee of a small Iranian company a few years back and they all just put up with the situation. They all went 'home' for holidays of a month or more and came and went freely. I really dont think the vast majority of Iranians are swivel eyed West haters

The majority of the Town and City dwellers just want this Government wiped away, they detest this loopy President they now have, the problem is the uneducated peasants from the countryside elected him because they were largely ordered to vote for him by the mullahs (and there the Mullahs control every aspect of live in the villages and smaller towns)...

Sadly the presidential elections in June (or July) will already be rigged by his supporters...

But the shit is getting ready to hit the fans, they're now producing nuclear bomb grade materials and they have the delivery platforms well developed - Israel or the West or both will be forced to act by the Gulf states sooner rather than later..

you make it sound like Bradford, most of the Pakistanis here are from poor country backgrounds and seem to only do what the Koran (interpreted by the Mullahs) tells them to do - more and more local Asian women adopting the full blown burkha rather than a simple headscarf. Its almost social suicide (or much worse) in some postcodes for them to not do so.

Worst thing is the women appear to be brainwashed into believing this is absolutely the right thing to do.

Education in most town and villages in Iran is conducted form around the age of 4 by the Mullahs, bright or not school is seen as largely unnecessary for the peasant girls. As they grow up their lives are dominated by the wishes of first the village mullah, then their male relations (no matter how distant) and most if not all of village life is massively subsidised by Central Government, so all residents do as they're told. Almost all the martyr and revolutionary guards are recruited from these area's. Turning down an offer of recruitment is not an option, those that do tend to run away to relatives in Tehran of go abroad as soon as they can.

As you say, many are effectively brianwashed. I lived and worked in Bushehr for while and if any local male of female were found socialising with Westerners/Russians/koreans, what befell them and their families made sure they never tried again.

Educated or middle class Iranians are largely desperate for change, unless of course their well-being or their wealth is tied to government jobs (even private industry is heaviliy subsidised by Government)...

The Iranian spend on defence is at the detriment to all their health services and a whole host of other services. Iran's best hope is that somehow the opposition win upcoming elections and the course they're currently set on can be reversed.

Such as shame as 'generally' the educated Persians are genuine well-rounded, live and let live types.

they are, the guys I worked with were good lads. I had to take the boss to court to get my commission out of him but hey! How capitalist is that?

The trouble with most of these countries is that they put expensive fighters and all sorts of other things before getting themselves a basic health service and infrastructure that will help their economies grow so that they can feed, clothe and treat their sick people.
