Interesting News Around the Football League

And another one that looked questionable, from the TV highlights anyway. If Grimsby do reach the play-offs those five (and counting) 1-0 wins against short-handed teams will have a lot to do with it.
At least they’ve made the most of this unusual/fortuitous advantage. I saw something the other day which showed we’ve had the most penalties in the entire EFL (by quite a margin I think). And what have we got to show for that fortune…fuck all!

But not a single opponent has been sent off in one of our league games, whereas we had TWO sent off in the Grimsby game, one of which was overturned.

Only one other sending off all season for us - Max Clark for a second booking at Tranmere.

So clearly none of our penalties involved denying a goal scoring opportunity or a dangerous tackle.

Just got round to seeing the League Two highlights from the weekend, which involve a somewhat dubious 2nd penalty for Bromley for a 'foul' on Idris Odutayo. Now, considering that particular player is well known for going down rather softly, and on this occasion gave it a lovely little swallow dive (7.8 for me), I wonder if there will be any retrospective action.

I have just looked at it.

I'm not 100% BUT there was no protest from the Accy players which IS telling.

Just watched it myself, looked like a foul to me. Certainly doesn't seem like a clear dive worthy of retrospective action, in any case.

Is it? The Bromley defenders didn't really protest after their push in McCleary's back either.

Perhaps the specialist cameras the F.A set up at that ground are already playing up.

One more token retrospective suspension for a Crewe player to justify their intervention and nothing since, as far as I know.

I was looking at THIS incident.

I think McCleary initiated the contact and made the most of it.

Saturday’s opponents Fleetwood win at Warsaw with their one and only Shot on target.
Expecting a cracker on Saturday 😉
Sounds like Warsaw have a blunter attack than us at the moment.

And Oldham defence keeping out Bromley who couldn't but themselves a penalty this time. Cheek picked up an injury as well. Might be interesting going forward.
